It was great till the last couple of updates. It does not recognize my location and often thinks I'm on a nearby street. I have to start the request several times during my route for it to finally give me accurate readings. Yesterday I was on a major road completely straight road, never deviated from it, and yet it thought I was a side street. Gave me incorrect timings by 10 minutes. Previous versions gave me accurate readings with precise arrival times.

The GPS mapping function is easy enough to use and relatively accurate in helping me get places. I'm finding that this week the "timeline" of my locations shown is inaccurate and not updating in a timely manner. This feature used to be very accurate and accurate to within 30 minutes of my location changing. This week I've noticed it is saying that I am across town (40 miles) from my true location and updates are 3+ hours behind.

It doesn't have a lot of the features that the old Maps did, like zoom buttons instead of having to pinch, distance-measuring tools, and being able to navigate to a destination without having to Get Directions first. However, Google has integrated Navigation into Maps and made it feel like it flows much better, and they're constantly adding support for other stuff within Maps like Waze or Uber.

I've always really liked this app for navigation, but recently there have been numerous very major road closings in my area and maps has taken me right through them, to the extent that I've had to turn around multiple times and try to figure out a way around. Meanwhile, maps is no help, because it's blissfully unaware that the road it wants me to take is currently a massive hole...

I just have an issue with switching from uber (uber driver) to the google maps navigation. When I select to navigate from uber, it works entirely well apart from an issue that never used to happen: when I tap the "navigate" from the uber driver app, Google maps then navigates me to a completely wrong location. Which then forces me to have to go back to the uber app and then note the address and manually type or say the correct address. I was not sure which product I was supposed to approach with this issue. Since I couldn't isolate on who to contact, I have copied and pasted this feedback onto the uber driver app and Google maps aswel. I hope this can be resolved please. Thanks in advanced.

The app works properly, but recently changed my "avoid toll roads" setting, and toggled it to allow toll roads. So this app takes me away from toll roads on the way to my new job, but takes me to a toll road on the way home, during a 1 1/2 hour commute... this app caused me to take a toll road, and I cannot opperate it while driving, to change my route. I am not familiar with the area, for my new job. Please, ensure that "avoid toll roads" is enabled as a default, when you roll out the next update/patch. The app is great otherwise.

Not going to win you any fans. Will you devs make up your mind and just stick to it. First we had a separate nav shortcut then it was removed, now a year or so later it's added back in... why. Now you change the Google ladies voice, for what? What exactly does that do to make Maps better!? How about some meaningful change, can we get a speedometer like other notable apps, only been waiting 4evr, isn't it about time for it? I like the floating bubbles for points of interest but careful with the clutter.

Why did you remove the option to NOT play over bluetooth?? Please put it back! Now I have to turn off my bluetooth entirely to hear the directions through my phone instead of through the car. I usually just have the radio on and my car won't play bluetooth audio unless it's on the right channel. It is stupid that the option was removed...

The app performs much slower than a few updates ago. Consistently loses GPS signal and freezes on a regular basis using either Galaxy S3 or S6. I now use another SatNav app as a backup which works perfectly but I prefer the Google graphics more - please fix.

My only problem with the app is that I cannot use it on my car. I have to get a third party app, which I have to pay for to use with carmode. Google maps are supposed to be a default navigation option when one uses the phone. Now I have to rely on some useless parties to provide that service. Make this app to be able to interface with vehicles infotaimant, I will give it 10 stars.

It used to be incredible, but with the recent update it takes 10-15 minutes to figure out where I am. It's a huge pain when I'm trying to use Google maps in an unfamiliar area because I can't travel anywhere until it figures out where I am. Then it's also starting to lose track of me as I'm driving, making it even more difficult to get to where I want to go.

OMG - am I in iRobot? I keep picking an alternate route to a destination to avoid traffic even though it's longer. GMaps keeps insisting I take the shorter route; it even asks me partway through if I want to go to shorter route or keep on keep on my present route. I pick the present route (why does it keep asking me-isn't once enough, are we married somehow?). Yet it still reroutes me to the shorter one ... and so I sit in traffic. Please fix or I will divorce you!!

Being able to favourite a current location when offline AND have multiple locations for work and home (temporary ones for when on holiday would be even better) are some features that this could use. Walking instructions for the intermediary parts of the public transport directions would appear to be an obvious improvement.

In general a very good app, but should give an option allowing user to choose the language of the map and navigation, instead of fixing to the system default. Living in Hong Kong, most street names are in Chinese where my phone's sytem is in English, which make the map not very usable when in English, especially in driving navigation.

I really wanted to like this app but it just didn't work right. The main issue is the voice wouldn't work in the car. A GPS with no voice is not good! I think the problem had to do with Bluetooth but I refuse to turn off Bluetooth on my phone. If there is a work around to this, we need instructions. The next thing I didn't like was that it didn't tell you your speed or the speed limit. Hopefully these items, especially the voice, gets fixed.

This app consistently places me at a starting point that is not accurate. It's doesn't update for wrong turns due to human error or construction etc. and when you try to restart navigation afterwards it gives you the same directions as before literally placing you back where you had originally, which is wrong as I had already stated! This app is awful!

Never works for my phone. Always shows I'm off to the side of the road and can't follow where I am if I pass over another road, it'll reroute like I magically hopped onto the other one. I uninstalled updates and it worked for a little while but still isn't working like I need it to.

A pointless app that eats your data. Make sure you have unlimited data plan or you'll fork out a lot of money in a matter of 20 mins it'll eat 500 mega bytes. When using it heated the phone to a dangerous level couldn't hold the phone 2 different models same results. Kills battery in 30 to 50 mins. Pointless when free maps are available.. 1 star no matter how good an app no use if you can't use it. Sony z1, huawei p8 tested same results as above.

Google Maps for Android has lost its ability to display details in the "Satellite" mode for areas in Turkey. The web version does NOT have this problem. This annoying issue persist for more than two years now... :(

Can't download routes for offline use anymore, have to download areas instead which is a stupid idea - taking up loads of data when you'll only use 1% of it. If there is a way to download routes, it's it's unfathomable unintuitive and the official Google help page for this issue is quite simply wrong. Using data for journeys wastes my money and battery, possibly to the point that one of them runs out and then you're really stuck. Another underwhelming and disappointing product from a company with the resources to do a lot better. Superior alternatives available.

This used to be my go-to choice for maps. There must have been an update that outdated it for me. It now takes forever to load...if it loads. When I try to follow my progress, my location is all over the map. Not where I should actually be. I can't even tell what icon I'm supposed to be following since there is now a big arrow as well as a smaller 1 that seems to point wherever it now choses. I'm sure glad I took my Garmin on my trip to Seattle or I'd still be trying to find my way to the airport!

Good integration with Android Auto and I like the lane guidance feature. But the latest update keeps destination entry field on top of map, so can't see upcoming traffic alerts or map. This is annoying. Previous versions it would auto hide. PLEASE PLEASE put in a speedometer! Every other nav app has it!

This app works well if you have a specific destination, but is horrible if I want to look up multiple possible locations on a phone. Why can't I look up the closest options on my phone in case I missed the closest location and can't turn around?

It's definitely a handy app to have. I would love to see the addition of speed limits during navigation!! I sometimes find it hard to edit the directions if i have added an extra stop before starting the nav...it is kinda tricky to delete.

I really like this app but... I'm in pune...i really don't know anything in this area...In this app no option for two wheeler that's why I don't have any choice to go with the car rout...thats why app take me in the road where two wheeler is not allowed...And no wonder Cop caught me...its suffers me alot... Pls do something about this...

Route for public transport always wrong. Always give worse route. Everytime choose public transport, all choice always use airport train that doesn't exist and if it's exist it'll very expensive and make the double the time it need to reach my destination

I absolutly hate the voice navigator!!!! And it cant be turned off!!! i cant listen to any anything with that stupid voice playing over my podcast or music. Worst part of the app by far. 5 stars otherwise but that voice navigation that in settings says can get "softer" (nothing happens by the way, it actually sounded louder) completly sucks. Make It an option to turn off the voice navigation Please!!!!!

I am an avid user of maps but my last update caused uber ads to pop up. Ads that I can't go around. Can't access the app unless I subscribe to uber? I understand ads is your means of earning revenue but I should have a choice in buying any product or service. This more like a must.

This is amateurish nightmare. This app navigated me this holiday two times completely out of way. First time I ended up on a down hill skating (app innertrein in Italy). Second time it led me on a hiking track for pedestrian. Horrible!

Worked great on Verizon. Haven't had a single successful trip with directions since I switch to Sprint. I have no clue where I'm going half the time and this just makes things worse. If you have sprint and need directions, you have a better chance asking bums for directions.

THE NO.1 app I use every single day. I conduct my business on the road 90% of the time. This app is truly a lifesaver in Jakarta. Real-time rerouting to avoid traffic jam. Saves countless hours in traffic. It also connects to street view which helps finding addresses. I will not survive without this app.

Awful! Map says to go left but she says to go right. It won't tell you where your exit is until youve already passed it. My new favorite, since the update my GPS will turn off randomly

It needs to fix way points. The waypoints only taje you so far up a street and then the sat nav tells you to make a u turn and go back the same rd. I know its trying to give you the shortest route but puts all of your other waypoints out of synchronization if you go further down the street. An easier more workable solution would make a bus drivers life so much easier. Remember large vehicles arent as manoeuvreable as cars. Plus please add more waypoints to incorporate all stops...its a pain to have to add in other stops from where it ends after about 10 stops

Excellent Map & Navigation app! In my opinion overall it's the best app and it integrates really well with all of the other Google services thus giving you great flexibility and control over the information you seek. The only negative aspect, iny opinion, is the lack of a more advanced and powerful multi-user system. It continually switches between my other Gmail accounts I'm logged into and records some info in my main account and other info in the other accounts apparently randomly. If they could resolve this one problem it would be the most powerful and convenient Map & Navigation app available.

When your phone is in a distant area use your carriers Mobile data . Only androids search for wi~fi when there isn't any. Maps Has downloadable area maps works faster than yellow pages go right to store website search invintory or call

Hey Google Maps team, It's a wonderful experience using Google maps.Maps have helped me a lot,I am a road trip guy who likes to travel places by cars and maps has helped me in fantastically.Thanks for this. Now there is one thing I would like to suggest,as in India we have got to attend too many occasions like marriage or the 'poojas' and all soo it is little bit difficult to find that place soo... if it's possible that the person having the occassion can share that information on Google maps with his name and a picture and surely we would have that particular persons mobile number in our contacts so we could connect them then it would be a lot easier to find the venue...! Thank you. PS:- please do reply what do you guys think about it!

Never had problems but this month it has not worked at all! Wrong location, no voice directions, doesn't update my route....I'm switching to another app for navigation. This is ridiculous and no one to help.
