Asia stock markets ended mixed Tuesday as investors weighed when the U.S. central bank might next raise interest rates.

In China, the Shanghai Composite Index closed down 1.3%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index edged up 0.1%. Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average ended down 0.2%, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 was down 1.6% and Korea’s Kospi finished up 0.6%.
