Adam's story

“My advisor and I created a plan of action – and he made sure I stuck to it until I succeeded!”

Adam, Commercial Director for an adoption support charity

“When you’ve been in work for so many years as I had, you lose touch with the ways of job hunting, which was the situation I found myself in after I’d been made redundant.   How do you go about finding new work in today’s market?   How do you write an effective CV?

A relative told me about Resource.   My advisor there was exactly what I needed.   He coached me to create a plan of action, and he made sure I stuck to it, every step of the way until eventually I succeeded in finding exactly the right job.

Resource runs a number of excellent workshops, which not only produced many practical benefits, but also brought me together with others from all walks of life in a similar situation.   We created a small supportive network, using our own career and life experiences to help each other.

Resource also set up a mock interview which I found to be of enormous benefit in helping me to prepare as I went from my first interview to my second one.   The mock interview gave me a much greater insight into how I managed the interview process.   Without that training I would never have done so well – in fact afterwards I was complimented on how well I did.   I was delighted to be offered the job and feel extremely grateful for Resource’s exceptional package of support and training.

I really can’t thank everyone enough at Resource for all their help.”
