Loan & Mentor Scheme

Resource is delighted to announce the latest innovation to its Vocational Loan – a new ‘Loan & Mentor’ Scheme.

The Vocational Loan will continue to offer Resource clients the possibility of an interest free loan of up to £2,500, but will now also provide a tailored mentoring service to help clients get the best out of this money.

The Vocational Loan can be used to assist in financing small business ventures and / or vocational training (e.g. professional qualifications or any other relevant training).

Small Business Finance Loan

Where this sort of loan is provided, clients will also be paired up with an experienced mentor with relevant experience in their chosen business area.

Resource has a wide range of skilled mentors across industries ready to help advise clients on all aspects of running a small business.

As part of the Loan & Mentor scheme successful clients will meet at least quarterly with their mentor. These meetings will typically involve a discussion of business performance (e.g. management accounts) as well as future strategy.

Vocational Training Loan

Where this sort of loan is provided, clients will be paired up with an experienced mentor with a similar professional background or industry experience.

As part of the Loan & Mentor scheme successful clients will meet with their mentor at least once an academic term (or before and after completion of a course). These meetings will typically involve a discussion of how the training will be applied to help further the client’s career.

How do I apply?

All you need to do is to complete the Vocational Loan application form, including any additional information you think will help support your application (e.g. CV, business plan, etc.).  The application pack can be downloaded here.

Your application will be considered by the Vocational Loan Committee and if you are successful they will liaise with the Resource Mentoring & Networking team to identify a suitable mentor to pair you up with.
