Funafuti, Tuvalu – The Prime Minister of Tuvalu along with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have today officially launched the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project (TCAP) marking the start of an ambitious, large-scale push to protect the Pacific island nation from climate change.
The Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project, set to run for seven years, is financed with US$36 million from the Green Climate Fund and $2.9 million from the Government of Tuvalu.

A total of 43,989 Syrians under Temporary Protection and host community members (of which around 48% women) benefited directly from livelihoods support in 2017, including: over 400 Syrians under Temporary Protection and host community members who increased their income through self-employment and more than 940 job placements.

Mosul was one of the last major holdouts in Iraq of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), who took control of the city in mid-2014. The military campaign to liberate the city started in October 2016 and continued for 10 months. Nearly one million civilians were evacuated during one of the largest managed evacuations in modern history.
