Description: In Bangladesh's makeshift camps, everywhere the eyes can see are families who fled Myanmar, waiting, in urgent need of food. Many of these families arrived in the camps with nothing.

Description: Action Against Hunger is proud to share the inspiring story of a courageous group of mothers uprooted from their homes by the violence caused by the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria. Action Against Hunger launched the “Porridge Moms” program in Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria's Borno State to provide vulnerable displaced women with a daily nutritious meal, as well as health education and training to prevent their at-risk children from becoming severely malnourished. The Porridge Moms program also provides these mothers with a critical peer support network, a “sisterhood” where they can help each other cope with the trauma, violence, and loss they have endured.

Description: The violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state is creating suffering on a catastrophic scale.
Since 25 August 2017, more than half a million people, mostly Rohingya women and children, have fled to Bangladesh and arrived in overflowing camps and settlements. They are exhausted and in urgent need of shelter, medical care, water and food.
DEC member charities are there, supporting relief efforts and hoping to help fund humanitarian assistance in Myanmar’s Rakhine state, if access opens up.
But more needs to be done. And you can take a step to help save lives.
