Mothers Sharing Strength to Overcome Hunger: Porridge Moms in Northeast Nigeria
Description: Action Against Hunger is proud to share the inspiring story of a courageous group of mothers uprooted from their homes by the violence caused by the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria. Action Against Hunger launched the “Porridge Moms” program in Maiduguri in northeast Nigeria's Borno State to provide vulnerable displaced women with a daily nutritious meal, as well as health education and training to prevent their at-risk children from becoming severely malnourished. The Porridge Moms program also provides these mothers with a critical peer support network, a “sisterhood” where they can help each other cope with the trauma, violence, and loss they have endured.

Treating malnourished refugee children in Bangladesh
Description: Dr Shahed Rahman explains how CARE is helping to treat children under five suffering from severe acute malnutrition in the makeshift camps in Bangladesh for people fleeing from violence in Myanmar.
