The Tale of the SAL, Part 5
I’m sure that many of you have been wondering what happened to our faithful stitcher. After all, when we last heard from her, she was deep in the forest, stitching the time away at a lovely cottage. Did she lose track of time? Did an enchanted spell fall upon her and cause her to sleep for 100 years? Did the bear family come home and reassert their rights of ownership? Well, dear readers, at long last, it’s time to find out!

Back at the cabin, the stitcher passed many happy hours on the Enchanted Swing of Incredible Stitching Progress. In fact, she would have been content to remain there for a much longer time, but all good things must come to an end. (Not sure why, but those are the rules!)
So the stitcher packed up her linen and threads, and continued along on her journey. And even though she had to leave the Enchanted Swing behind (much to the relief of the cabin’s current owners), she continued to make progress, such as this:

And this:

And this:

In fact, it wasn’t long until she came to a bend in the road, and being the adventurous stitcher that she was, she forged ahead with nary a care to find this:

Soon she came to a place that she almost didn’t recognize because she doesn’t get to see it all that often:

Could it be? . . . Was it possible? . . .
Yes, Virginia, fairy tales really do come true sometimes, because our determined little stitcher had finally found her way to the Enchanted Land of Finished Projects!!

Of course, the jubilant stitcher immediately looked around for her SAL friends: Annemarie, Barbara, Jennifer, Karen, Mary, Nicole, Tanya, and Willeke. (Oh, wait! Looks like Nicole had already been there and left.) But even though she didn’t see them all there, she knew she would eventually, which made her smile.
And in case you’re wondering: yes, she lived Happily Ever After!!
(Well, except for the time when she was crabby from having too little stitching time. . . . And the time when she couldn’t find the right color of thread for her project. . . . And the time when she couldn’t find the out-of-print pattern that she wanted. . . . And the time when she discovered that someone had been using her favorite pair of scissors to cut something OTHER than floss. . . . And then there was the time she was visited by frogs of the non-Handsome-Prince variety, but those are all different stories for another day.)
