Perceptor goes to considerable lengths to recreate as much of the experience of the G1 toy as possible. From having a working (kind of) microscope mode, to a third mode one might describe as a tank - even though that one goes undocumented for the retail release - a lot of effort was expended. That gives it an unusually high play value, but also makes some things go a bit strange. Head over to the Titans Return Perceptor review page to see our video, text and photos coverage of the toy and find out all about it!
Diecast of Radio Free Cybertron has posted his review of Toyworld Assault, their take on Masterpiece Thrust! He's taken a comprehensive look at this impressively large alternative to Masterpiece Thrust, which towers over even MP Starscream. And it even comes with a very large and impressive stand! Keep reading to have a look.
__scaled_100.jpg) Our forums member chuckdawg1999 is back once again with a new toy video for us. This time he's bringing a look at TakaraTomy Legends Astrotrain side by side with its Hasbro Titans Return counterpart. This gives a good chance to directly compare the two releases, find out about any differences besides deco, and see which you might prefer. We have Chuck's video embedded below, so click through and give it a look!
It's the start of wave 4's new molds! And Kup is the one I care least about. Which is not because it's a bad toy. It's just mostly not an interesting toy, and I take issue with that. It does have a nice transformation to fall back on at the very least! Go ahead and check out our Titans Return Kup review page, where you can find our video review, text, and photos from our gallery of over 150 images. And keep watching for more coverage of Titans Return Deluxe Wave 4!
Next up on our coverage of Titans Return wave 4 is the assortment's other recolor Krok. Putting an obscure character on a mold nobody would have seriously called for this application becomes an amazing success story by a beautiful execution of deco - even moreso than Quake! It's amazing! AND it fixes a lot of Skullcruncher's problems! Head on over right now to our Titans Return Krok review page, featuring video, text and photos coverage, including our full gallery!
We've got Titans Return Deluxe Wave 4 in hand, and we're kicking off with a look at the surprisingly excellent recolors filling out this assortment of five figure. Quake & Chasm take the already outstanding early Titan Return Hardhead mold and give you an amazing deco option to have it with. Yes, I do indeed like this one. Head on over right now to our Titans Return Quake review page, featuring video, text and photos coverage, including our full gallery!
We've got another review video from diecast on the RFC Reviews channel, talking about Downbeat from Maketoys. Downbeat is one of a surprisingly small assortment of unofficial Masterpiece Jazzes, which bring slightly different ideas to the table. Downbeat seemingly isn't perfect, though it presents as more a collection of small problems than any one significant one. You can see the details of vehicle and robot modes, and the lengthy, but honestly pretty nice looking transformation process in between. The review is embedded below, so go ahead and watch right now.
__scaled_100.jpg) Just when you thought they were gone, they're back! This box set is a platinum edition / Entertainment Earth exclusive, the Liokaiser set! Based on Sky Reign and heavily remolded with different deluxe appendages, is this set worth your money? The cost is lowering on some places like Amazon, so watch, subscribe, like and whatnot to see if this set does anything for you!
Hot Rod is a good figure in the Titans Return line. It's not better, or worse than its Classic version, it just is. Car mode is good with a passable robot mode. If you're on the fence and have a version of the Classic mold, you can pass this figure up.
Danh Le, who originally shared the first images we brought you of the initial Deluxe offering for The Last Knight's toyline has uploaded a pair of videos to Youtube featuring these toys. The first video which is about 23 minutes long shows each of the Deluxes in a basic overview. The new molds do not get transformations demonstrated, unfortunately. A look at Barricade's vehicle underbody helps make clear that it won't be complex, however. The second video is narrated slideshow of additional images of the toys. We've got both embedded below, so go ahead and check them out!
The RFC Reviews Youtube channel has finished out videos for the three new molds from Titans Return Deluxe wave 4. Radio Free Cybertron's diecast has posted the video review for Perceptor, featuring the return to the character's classic microscope alternate mode, and the mobile artillery secondary alt mode also inspired by the original toy. You can see the transformations for both, as well as the usual run down of articulation and a general overview of the details. The video is embedded below, click through now to watch!
Changing gears a bit tonight, diecast from Radio Free Cybertron has posted a new video to the RFC Reviews channel showing off a testshot of Arch Enemy, the first figure in the Master Builder series from new group Fans Hobby. Despite being a testshot piece, the review demonstrates good design and build quality overall with an appropriately simple transformation. And about twice the volume of the original official Robots in Disguise Scourge toy! We've embedded the review below, so go ahead and take a look!
Once again on the RFC Reviews channel, diecast from Radio Free Cybertron has posted a video review for one of the new mold figures from Titans Return Deluxe wave 4. Kup and Flintlock is tonight's entry, and we get to take a good look at it through articulation and transformation, as well as side by side with the original G1 toy. We get a closeup look at the head, and some side by side shots with other Titans Return figures, revealing Kup is surprisingly on the tall side! All that and more are in the video, embedded below. Click through and have a look!
__scaled_100.jpg) Over on the RFC Reviews Youtube channel, diecast from Radio Free Cybertron has posted a new video featuring Topspin from Titans Return Deluxe wave 4. The review does a good job showing off what the figure can do in articulation and highlights some improved tolerances on the Titan Master neck connector. And in both robot and vehicle mode, we get to see how much bigger Topspin is compared to typical prior Titans return Deluxes. The video is embedded below, so click through and check it out.
Kickback is a nice toy with just enough new complexity introduced to the G1 transformation. It's the intangibles that drag it down just a bit... like how well it fits in with the other two Insecticons and how well its Titan Master interaction works (see: grasshopper-shaped footbath.) None of that sinks a great toy... but by fixing either or both of those things it could be just that much better. Click here to read and watch the review!
