Members of the Transformers Peru Facebook group had the chance to see some packaged samples of The Last Knight Premier Edition toys in package, and in doing wound up getting a first look at Premier Edition Grimlock! However, it seems to simply be a recolor of Voyager Grimlock from the Age of Extinction line, with its colors removed to better match the on screen appearance. We do get a first hint of Slash's new deco, though, seen as a cross sell on the back of Bumblebee's box, and seeming to favor blue and silver. The photos are mirrored below, so take a look!
Hasbro's Portuguese website has revealed "Playskool Friends" style figures of the Transformers - small, single piecem friendly, safe figurines for very young children. The website listing describes these as a Collectible Edition, and does not seem to use the Playskool Friends branding in association with them perhaps indicating a different intent for release. Pictures of Optimus and Bumblebee are shown, and the listing also references Arcee, as well as Chase, Boulder, Blades, and Heatwave - the cast of Rescue Bots as part of the overall assortment. We've mirrored the images, keep reading to see!
It's been found that IMDB has been updated with lengthy cast credits for The Last Knight. While the list still omits a few characters we know will be appearing in the movie (mainly voice over roles that haven't necessarily been cast yet), it does offer some interesting potential insights. We caution going in that this will both contain possible spoilers, but also may not be entirely accurate, as IMDB is not particularly restricted in who can contribute information to it. One point in particular seems like it might be right, though. Keep reading for more.
The second wave of Combiner Force branded Robots in Disguise Warrior figures saw a limited release in the Philippines a few weeks ago, but grabbed comparatively little attention at the time. It looks like North American distribution is coming soon, as a new listing on Entertainment Earth shows the next Combiner Force assortment getting ready to arrive as early as March. And it also presents us with the case loadout we can expect to see. Keep reading to find out more!
Hasbro today launched a new integrated marketing campaign celebrating Hasbro Stories and the meaningful connection consumers around the world feel toward Hasbro and its brands. Hasbro is home to many of the worlds most iconic brands, including NERF, MY LITTLE PONY, TRANSFORMERS, PLAY-DOH, MONOPOLY, LITTLEST PET SHOP and MAGIC: THE GATHERING, as well as hundreds of the most popular gaming brands of all time.
TakaraTomy has posted new images of their Metal Collection (AKA MetaColle) figures of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Optimus Prime and Bumblebee! Due out at the end of March, these diecast metal figures are small but only run 1,080 Yen each. (The size is more more pronounced when you realize the average height for a Japanese man is five feet, seven inches and the odds are against that hand being terribly big.) Topspin is the standout of this wave. Fantastic design ideas and aesthetic choices, with really excellent transformation engineering make this toy shine on all counts. The only issues present are relatively small, and seem to be a result of the materials not quite playing right with the design. I could easily see later uses of the mold being effectively perfect! You can find our video review, with accompanying text and photos right now on the
Titans Return Topspin review page, so go give it a look right now!
TakaraTomy's TF_pr Twitter account is starting to promote the upcoming release of Leo Prime in the Legends line later this month. The figure is a recolor of Titan Return Alpha Trion based on Lio Convoy, and using the Titan Master mold from Sentinel Prime to give it that Prime-ish look. One photo gives us a look at the toy's packaging, while the other sees Leo Prime borrowing a bit of Starscream's coronation gear, specifically the cape from the Masterpiece. Sadly, it seems that it's simply propped up in place rather than being able to attach for real. Click through to see the mirrored pictures!
Twitter user ROUGE03 shared a few photos recently, in order to demonstrate whether Movie The Best line figures really are "the best". Side by side photos show Megatron, Shockwave, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime with their prior line equivalents, going all the way back to Revenge of The Fallen. In each case, the The Best release is on the right, and while Bumblebee seems not to show huge obvious differences, each of the others stand out more clearly. We've mirrored the photos so you can judge for yourself who did it better - and let us know down below!
By way of Amazon, we have a preorder listing and publication date for Lost Light's first collected volume. Keep reading for the solicit blurb and a link to the order page. And of course check out our reviews of the currently released Lost Light #1 and Lost Light #2!
MMC's figure inspired by the design of Rodimus as seen in IDW's More Than Meets The Eye is now up for preorder, with an expected ship date in June. Several new photos of the figure showing both modes in full color, with and without its bow accessory have also been revealed. Reformatted R-27 Calidus stands just over 7 inches (18cm) tall and transforms into a racing car. Calidus's energy bow can be mounted to his backpack in robot mode, and it forms the car's fender in racing car mode. This item is priced at $84.99 and is available for preorder now at bigbadtoystore.com and .tfsource.com
Transformers games have picked up steam (and appeared on Steam) in the last decade or so, when once they were painfully rare and painfully bad. It's gotten better! But there's still much room for improvement. Many corners of gaming where Transformers could visit, some obvious and some not - but there's far more you could be doing with Transformers than shooters with driving/flying sections. Keep reading for RAC's picks!
Transformers@TheMoon, which tracks Hasbro trademarks likely to be Transformers-related, has posted the specifics of a recent Hasbro filing with the US Patent Office. The filing, specified for being related to conventions and related entertainmnent uses, is for the phrase "The Premier Hasbro Fanmily Event." Keep reading for more speculation and info on this filing and details on the trademark itself!
If Elita-One won't allow Carcer to fight the Undead Titans, Windblade will go and ask herself. Thus begins a daring raid to gain access to the Titan's brain module... but the first minds that Windblade's team have to contend with are the fine military minds of Strika and Obsidian. "Desperate Measures" is written by Mairghread Scott with art by Sara Pitre-Durocher and color by Joana Lafuente. Click here to read the review!
Perceptor goes to considerable lengths to recreate as much of the experience of the G1 toy as possible. From having a working (kind of) microscope mode, to a third mode one might describe as a tank - even though that one goes undocumented for the retail release - a lot of effort was expended. That gives it an unusually high play value, but also makes some things go a bit strange. Head over to the Titans Return Perceptor review page to see our video, text and photos coverage of the toy and find out all about it!
