Starting Tuesday, January 10 and occurring weekly, there will be at 7 p.m. Gentle Yoga with practitioner Elizabeth Tseng. Please bring your own water, beach towel or mat. Ms.Tseng requests that the practice be done barefoot. You will need to sign a waiver in order to participate in the class.

Hours before an historic blizzard, excited customers came to the library to engage in a creative sewing collective. Women from ages 11 to 60 learned how to do a basic running stitch, whipstitch, sew a button, and create a pocket to fit a pair of glasses. The majority of participants completed their eyeglass cases. They were proud to have made an artistic case that is used daily.

Local author Maurice A. Butler will discuss the life of Charles L. Gittens, the first African-American Secret Service Agent.
Join your neighbors on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Lamond-Riggs Neighborhood Library. The author's inspiration came from meeting Mr. Gittens when he met with Mr. Butler's students at Roosevelt High School. Mr. Gittens's story spans working in the deep south, New York City, and being the Director of the Washington, D.C. Secret Service Field Office.
