I decided to give their Waikiki location a shot since I managed to find parking on Ala Wai.
My previous experience at their Chinatown shop was just okay mainly because of how it was a pain to get to and that it was very crowded with slow service. The Waikiki location is a bit better. First, there is more space to wait rather than the tiny, cramped market in Chinatown. This place has no seats and tables so it is TAKE OUT ONLY. Also, this location only opens during dinner time at 5:30PM. But more importantly, GET THERE BEFORE 5:30PM. A line forms prior to it opening. Granted it is not as crazy as Marukame Udon, but a line is still a line. Their menu is smaller mainly focusing on poke and donburi (fish only) so you won't have all the choices of the Chinatown location.
I ordered their wasabi ahi poke bowl ($8.55). It comes in one size and you can get brown rice for an extra $1. The wasabi ahi poke was pretty good, but I thought the Chinatown location had a stronger burn, which I prefer. Fish is still super fresh like the other location. They only have two desserts and not many beverages, but ABC is a 5 min walk away if you want some drinks to drink with your food. Service was slow. They didn't open until 5:38PM and everyone was getting slightly annoyed. It seemed odd since their menu is small and is primarily just fish and rice.
Parking is not great. They have 2 spots in front of their shop and that's it. So prepare to hunt for a parking spot in Waikiki that doesn't make your wallet cry. It is located on Lewers Street in a small building that looks recently renovated.
I would come back since the fish here is super fresh and decent flavor. Also, I prefer going to this one over the Chinatown one.
