Jo Johnson

Joseph Edmund Johnson (born 23 December 1971) is a Conservative Party politician. He has been the member of parliament (MP) for Orpington since the general election in May 2010. From April 2013 to May 2015, he was the Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit, and became Minister of State for the Cabinet Office in July 2014. Following the May 2015 general election, he became the Minister for Universities and Science.

Early life

Family

Johnson is the youngest of four children born to former Conservative MEP Stanley Johnson and artist Charlotte Johnson Wahl (née Fawcett), the daughter of Sir James Fawcett, a prominent barrister and president of the European Commission of Human Rights.

He is the younger brother of Boris, the Mayor of London; Rachel, a writer and journalist; and Leo, an entrepreneur and film-maker.

Education

He began his schooling in Brussels, at the European School in Uccle, before attending The Hall School in Hampstead, London, Ashdown House School in East Sussex, and then Eton College. In 1991, he went to Balliol College, Oxford to read Modern History. He was a Scholar at Balliol, edited Isis, the Oxford University student magazine, and was awarded a First Class degree in both Honour Moderations (June 1992) and Finals (Honour School, June 1994). While at Oxford, he was a member of the Bullingdon Club together with Harry Mount, Nat Rothschild and George Osborne, with whom he remains a close friend.

Amy Jo Johnson

Amy Jo Johnson (born October 6, 1970) is an American/Canadian actress, singer, songwriter, scriptwriter, producer, director, musician and gymnast, nominated as Best actress in a leading role, for her remarkable performance as sniper Jules Callaghan in the award-winning Canadian series Flashpoint. Besides her role in Flashpoint, Johnson has played Julie Emrick on the J.J Abrams televison series Felicity and Stacy Reynolds in The Division, as well as acted in Wildfire and Covert Affairs.

She started her acting career in the early 90's as the original Pink Ranger Kimberly Ann Hart in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Johnson also starred in television films and movies including Susie Q, Killing Mr. Griffin, Perfect Body, Sweetwater, and Magma: Volcanic Disaster.

As a folk singer and songwriter, she released her first official single, Puddle of Grace, when she was on Felicity by Hollywood Records. She has three albums under her belt. Her latest project, Never Broken, is a compilation of original tunes about the struggles we face in life, and what it takes to persevere through them. Never Broken, as well as Amy Jo’s other albums, The Trans-American Treatment' and Imperfect, have been featured on various TV shows like The Division and Flashpoint, as well, the films Sweetwater, Bent and Lines.

Johnson is a surname of English origin. The name itself is a patronym of the given name John, literally meaning "son of John". The name John derives from Latin Johannes, which is derived through Greek Ἰωάννης Iōannēs from Hebrew יוחנן Yohanan, meaning "Yahweh has favoured". The name has been extremely popular in Europe since the Christian era as a result of it being given to St John the Baptist, St John the Evangelist and nearly one thousand other Christian saints. Johnson is the ninth most common surname in Sweden/Scandinavia, second most common in the United States and 154th most common in the world.
