This is my only personal page on Google Plus.
I regard Google Plus as an art photography social medium. I post photos of more interest to naturalists on Facebook and Twitter. I also pass along recent or significant scientific findings and developments in environmental protection and healthcare on Twitter.
All of the images displayed on this page are mine (regardless of whether they have my name on them) unless I have specified otherwise. I occasionally reshare on my personal page posts of outstanding work by photographers whom I think need more recognition.
I am the originator and the curator of the
Bee Thursday theme. I was an
HQSP Landscape co-curator for six months and an HQSP Macro curator for three months, an unfortunate choice for me although I helped many others rise from obscurity to prominence. I disagree with HQSP's philosophy of promoting the pretty rather than the interesting and informative.
I've authored or co-authored several scientific papers. Some are peer-reviewed, but the one that really caught on is a proceedings paper presenting an axis-scaling algorithm which is still popular after 15 years and easily located with a search engine (lately #5 on Google Search under "axis-scaling.")
