You are Sunshine!

I am popping in today, to share a card I made for Ellen Hutson’s Mix It Up Challenge! I am so glad I snuck this in! I enjoy combining products I like so much!

For this card, I used Ellen Hutson’s All Inside and Avery Elle’s Hello Stamp. I’d venture to guess, this AE set is long retired (?), but it is a fave of mine still! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_sunshine_00_wm

I stamped and used my Zig pens to watercolor in an ombrΓ© sunshiney look! It’s not quite as smooth as I’d have liked, but I decided if I messed with it anymore, I’d have watercolor outside the lines! πŸ™‚hawkins_jill_sunshine_wm

I scored the panel, and stitched it on a card base with a paper clip. That was about it! Lots of simple sunshine to mail!

I’m entering this in the Ellen Hutson January Mix It Up Challenge: Avery Elle. It’s about over, but if you run, you can sneak one in too! πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by!

feel better soon

I needed a little love to send in the mail today. I was inspired by all the lovely RED and white in the current Ellen Hutson’s Pin-Sights Challenge, so I ran with that. I love white with some deep, dark red! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_feelbetter I white heat embossed the sentiments on the background repeatedly. It’s such a subtle and delightful detail to add.hawkins_jill_feelbetter_00I then die cut some hearts from Ellen Hutson’s All Inside dies and stamped a sentiment from Warm Fuzzies! The background was stamped & heat embossed with the stamps from All Inside. πŸ™‚

you’re a keeper

It’s that crazy time of year right? But when isn’t it always a little bit crazy? πŸ™‚

I’m squeaking in this entry to Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist! Such fun!

Slider-12-tagsHere’s my festive tag!

hawkins_jill_keeper_00I used Neat & Tangled’s Scandinavian Prints Christmas and Ellen Hutson’s Warm Fuzzies! hawkins_jill_keeperI was delighted and inspired by Day 8 with Carly Tee Minner & Kelly Marie Alvarez…I loved these colorful trees (below) by Margaret Berg, that Carly was inspired by to create her super cute tag. And then Kelly’s adorable unicorn tag! Gah, so stinkin’ fun!

you’re so sweet…

I am sneaking in another post today! I have been trying to make a card for this challenge for days!! I enjoy this challenge and I also always really like the photos to draw inspiration from. I made this card in piecemeal. Please excuse the photo. IΒ  finally finished this tonight, and of course, the night-time photos are always awful. (I’ll try to replace it tomorrow. I hope!) πŸ™‚ Edited: Adding new day time photos! Hooray for daylight!

I love to use Ellen Hutson’s Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies!

hawkins_jill_youre-sweet_00_wm hawkins_jill_youre-sweet_wmEdited: Original photo taken at night below: Yuck. 😦 The above photos still can’t quite make it look like it does in front of me though. #ongoingbattleofphotographing

hawkins_jill_youre-sweetI stamped and then I watercolored with my Zig pens & water. This (original nighttime) photo makes them look washed out and blah, but they are actually much more autumn like and cheery! πŸ™‚

cannot bear…

My family gave me an early gift today: I had a WHOLE hour, on a Saturday, to make a card! Confession: I did do laundry at the same time, but it was as close to crafty bliss as I can get in daylight. I craft in daylight maybe 3-4x a year. Literally. LOL πŸ™‚

I had to use Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. Again. There are so many possibilities with this set and all his goodies from Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies!

hawkins_jill_cant-bear_wmI just love these sentiments’ font. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_cant-bear_00_wmI stamped and die cut all these images. Then I colored them, and the background, with my Zig pens & water. Such fun! πŸ™‚

One of my favorite colors is Orange. Excited to see all the Orange in the Pin Sights Challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson right now. It also made me think FALL (obviously)…and this week was cold, rainy, and all the plants began withering away. πŸ˜‰

Thanks a Bunch!

I so enjoy making cards to send with Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. That cute little bear and the fonts are perfecto! Well, now this cutie has all sorts of things he can hold! If you saw my card HERE, you know I looooove this idea! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_00_wmOh my word! This just makes me smile!! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_thnxabunch_wmI had the good fortune (and may have been a little excited!) to be randomly selected for the Ellen Hutson gift card last month, so I figured, it was a sign I should get the new Bear Ware and Warm Fuzzies! Right? Obviously. πŸ˜‰

I blended Distress Inks onto this panel. If I recall, the inks I used were: Fired Brick, Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, and a little Carved Pumpkin to round it all out. Then I stamped the sentiment strip, and stitched it on. I used my Zig pens and Kuretake watercolors to color the bear and his wares. πŸ™‚

The colors I chose were inspired by the Pin Sights Challenge going on over at Ellen Hutson right now. As well as narrowing my choice to using the flowers first! See photo inspiration below. πŸ™‚

I also used a My Favorite Things die: Blueprints #13.

Make Your Own :)

I just think this card is a bit of a riot :). There is something so funny about this bear holding a Chicago hot dog and then… this sentiment?! Kismet, right? Bwwwwaaahaaahaa! πŸ™‚

This cutie and the sentiment is from Ellen Hutson’s All Inside stamp and die set. πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_make your own_wmThe little hot dog is from Hero Arts Chicago My Kind of Town. Gah–TOO FUN! πŸ™‚

hawkins_jill_make your own_00_wmI added some score lines and stitching to the bottom of this card, though the photos here barely show it. In person, it adds just the right bit. I colored the bear and his dog with Copic markers and popped them up with foam tape. πŸ™‚

I thought I’d also enter this to the Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights Challenge. I think there are a couple of days left, so check it out! I may try another before time runs out? Big maybe on the time factor. Always, right? πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by!
