MEP requests Dieselgate documents as private citizen

Dutch Green MEP Bas Eickhout on Wednesday filed a freedom of information request as a private citizen, in an attempt to get access to documents that the parliamentary inquiry committee into the Dieselgate scandal wants to read. The papers include the minutes of meetings of working groups on car legislation. The European Commission only wants to allow access in a secure reading room and not allow MEPs to take notes.
