Continuing with our mini restaurant series, we present the above pic. George’s on Concord. Question to self: WHY is this restaurant not popping up on Google? Ohhhhh….it’s actually Pete’s on Concord. That’s it. Pete’s on Concord is one of the many fabulous restaurants in Anderson and its surrounding area owned by Greeks and Greek families. Patrons often just call it George’s. Anderson misses him. He passed away too young. The restaurant contains many small tributes to its former owner, including the first page of the menu: George’s Specialty Sandwiches. I’m working my way through the list.

I met Candice, the waitress above, not long ago when visiting Mama Penn’s. She is a really sweet person and a great server. I wish I had gotten a better pic of her: like in many restaurants, the light was really low (and I hate using a flash). After Angie’s post here of Mama Penn’s fried chicken, I was inspired to post this shot anyway, flaws and all. Thanks for your good service, Candice! Mama Penn’s is just off N. Main. Really delicious food.

Angie and I went to Chili’s, off Clemson Blvd., on Saturday. Talk about a humid day! The sprinkles were non-stop, and it was nice to be inside. Jason, the above server, was friendly and efficient. We can’t recommend the Queso and Chips — but the Chicken Crispers are excellent. 🙂
