This sign caught my attention. One reason, I really like the color. Two, I found the geometric-shaped sign to the left interesting. It’s a likeness of the civic center building. (I’ll show a pic of that tomorrow.) Quite an unusual shape, huh? The third thing that caught my eye…is it just me, or is “An Anderson County Facility” following the road less traveled rather than a straight line? 🙂
Though it was cold on Saturday (South Carolina cold, not Vermont cold 🙂 ) — the geese were vocal and active as usual. Anderson County Civic Center.
Walking at the Civic Center on Saturday, we ran into this friendly pair. (Yes, it was quite breezy and chilly.) The owner walked her older Jack Russell first, and then returned for another walk with her younger JR and a lab. She said the JRs were a variety with a longer back, I believe. I don’t know much about them — they’re just cute to me.
I can’t say enough how much I love the Civic Center. Wonderful walking trails. Playgrounds. Ball fields. Always people to meet and enjoy.
One evening, after thousands of trips to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Rancho Nuevo, Jose brought us a sample of what the waiters make. Damn. Fresh. Cilantro. Tomatoes. And big chunks of jalapeno. (I pick those out.) Thanks, Jose. I’ll never look at salsa the same way ever again. 🙂

The above pic is “the other sticker” on the car also shown below. I love that even a small town like Anderson has residents from many other places and cultures. For example, I took a photography class at Tri-County Tech. (Have you seen the Anderson campus? Very nice.) We went around the room sharing our names and backgrounds. The older lady in the front row introduced herself, speaking in what sounded like an English cadence. She said with a smile, “I’m Susan. As you can tell from my accent, I live in Iva.” The memory still makes me chuckle, she delivered the joke so well. She indeed is from England. (For those not familiar with Iva, it’s a tiny town in southern Anderson County — almost to the Abbeville County line.)
I like puzzles. I don’t much like math. The above equal signs repel me — too much like equations. But the words lead me to believe I could figure out the message with a little work. I THINK I have it solved. You? :)(Okay, maybe it’s not THAT hard…but it did take me a minute or two. 🙂 )
These beautiful flowers are growing behind The People’s Bank on Clemson Blvd. I have NO idea what they are. They strike me as daisies. But more realistically, a type of Camilia? Help, anyone?
