Stephen King biography and information

  • Stephen King has written over 100 novels and short stories, collected more than 50 awards for writing and his name is now synonymous with horror and science-fiction literature. 

  • CarrieSalem's LotMiseryItThe Green Mile and Under The Dome; not only is King a publishing phenomenon, but his books have entered the public consciousness through numerous television and film adaptations.

  • King was hit by a van not far from his home in 1999. He suffered from a collapsed lung, a broken hip, a gash to the head and a leg broken in nine places. He later bought the van and attacked it with a baseball bat before sending it to the scrapyard.

Book and writing awards

Bram Stoker Award 2002 for Lifetime Achievement, World Fantasy Award, Horror Guild Awards (and International Horror Guild Awards), British Fantasy Awards and more. Out of all of these awards, King has received them several times over.
