Altair and Aquila the Eagle
...
The Great Rift of the summer Milky Way passes through the Summer Triangle, between the stars Vega and Altair. In dark skies in June, July and August, you can see rich star fields with your binoculars on both sides of the Great Rift.
In modern western culture, Altair is probably best known for being the home star system of the aliens in the 1956 science fiction film “Forbidden Planet”. But in Asian cultures, Altair and the star Vega figure in one of the most beautiful of all stories of the night sky. In Japan, for example, Vega is sometimes called Tanabata (or Orihime), a celestial princess or goddess. She falls in love with a mortal, Kengyu (or Hikoboshi), represented by the star Altair. Read the rest of the story here.
The whole Summer Triangle area is great to observe with binoculars or in dark skies with just your eyes. If you like finding hidden pictures, get set to find a Coathanger, the North American Nebula (NGC7000): and Ring Nebula (M57).
Click on, and read more ...

Sagittarius A, at the Milky Way’s core, lies in the constellation Sagittarius and to the east (left) of Scorpius.
The region is rich with star clusters and nebulae.
It’s a perfect place to explore with binoculars under dark skies.

🖋 | ❝ I was out in the sun for one hour, just one ❞
The green paladin pointed at her freckles which were under her eyes to show what she meant by 'they're'
❝ And, now they're are all over the place. ❞
The girl closed her eyes and raised her hands at should levels and jazzed handed her fellow paladin
❝ Not an outdoor person ❞
After Lance used a dark blue marker to draw on her face making them look like 'constellations' Pidge responded back to Lance
❝ Did you just draw on my face? ❞
After looking down to see what Lance had drew on her freckles the female paladin gave the sharpshooter an annoyed stare

Tonight's Sky: August 2018 | HubbleSite
Save the date to watch the peak of the Perseid meteor shower—an always-anticipated feature of the night sky—August 12 and 13th. This month, backyard telescopes will also reveal sunlight reflecting off the clouds of Venus’s thick atmosphere and the Ring Nebula, an expanding shell of glowing gas in the constellation Lyra.

M106, Galaxy Cloud
Messier 106 (also known as NGC 4258) is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781. M106 is at a distance of about 22 to 25 million light-years away from Earth. M106 contains an active nucleus classified as a Type 2 Seyfert, and the presence of a central supermassive black hole has been demonstrated from radio-wavelength observations of the rotation of a disk of molecular gas orbiting within the inner light-year around the black hole NGC 4217 is a possible companion galaxy of Messier 106 A Type II supernova was observed in this galaxy in May 2014

Barnard 228: The Dark Wolf Nebula in Lupus
These dark markings on the sky can just be found in silhouette against a rich, luminous background of stars. Seen toward the southern constellation of Lupus the Wolf, the dusty, obscuring clouds are part of the Lupus Molecular Cloud some 500 light-years distant. Packs of low mass stars are forming within them, from collapsing cores only visible at long infrared wavelengths. Still, colorful stars in Lupus add to this pretty galactic skyscape. It spans about 8 degrees, not far from the central Milky Way.
