I went here for the first time last week with some friends. I was really looking forward to it, because my husband and I are big fans of the American adult arcade chain, Dave & Buster's. I was hoping this place would be something similar. Sadly, it wasn't even close.
My friends and I decided to go the full nine yards to experience it all: dinner, drinks, doughnuts, and games.
It took a while before we managed to be served, as the staff is new at the job. No problems there, we all have to start somewhere, right? The free popcorn was fun, and made the wait seem less long.

My friends and I decided to go the full nine yards to experience it all: dinner, drinks, doughnuts, and games.
It took a while before we managed to be served, as the staff is new at the job. No problems there, we all have to start somewhere, right? The free popcorn was fun, and made the wait seem less long.
Here's what I ordered:
For drinks, I had the Strawberry Basil Lemonade. It was a refreshing drink. Sadly, it was the first and last thing I enjoyed on their menu.
We got the Crab & Artichoke dip for an appetizer. It smelled like the seafood had been left out for a few days, and didn't taste any better. The bread that came with it was overcooked. A thicker, moist bread would be more complimentary for this heavy dip.
As my entrée I got the Lobster Mac & Cheese. I shared it, and I'm glad I did because the portion is quite large. But it was incredibly disappointing. For $24 I received a few small pieces of lobster amidst what tasted like reheated nacho cheese on noodles.
We decided to give the place one last chance to prove itself food-wise, so we hit up the smaller food joint near the arcade. They serve doughnuts that you fill with custom filling and an optional shot of alcohol. I tried the Cookies'n'Cream with marshmallow filling and a shot of Bailey's. The doughnut was not fresh and tasted stale. And while I thought the alcohol would be a genius idea, it actually made it worse. I'll know better next time!
The games were okay, but nothing impressive. The ones that are worth it are pricey, and on a Friday night, be ready to wait a bit for them. Although the building looks massive from the outside, the arcade feels crowded. Only up-side is that coat check is free.
CONCLUSION: This place has a lot of work to do if they want to build a loyal customer base. Its upscale modern feel is a façade to their overly priced menu (don't let the item names fool you; it's simple, bland food). However, given that they're new on the block I would like to give the restaurant one more try before I officially cross it off my list. Their special event nights seem interesting enough, like comedy shows and movie sing-along nights, so I may stop by for one of those. As for the arcade portion... I don't see myself going back.
