Management Team

John Perry

President & Chief Executive Officer

John leads all aspects of Bluefin Payment Systems’ strategic planning, including spearheading key alliances and acquisitions. Prior to joining Bluefin, John served as CEO of iPay Technologies; EVP of Ruesch International; CEO of Spectrum; and President and COO of NOVA Information Systems.

John holds a BS in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA, Management, from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Patrick Burke

Chief Operating Officer

Patrick manages all aspects of operations at Bluefin, including the Credit Underwriting and Risk Management groups as well as the Payment Platforms and Association Compliance requirements. Before joining Bluefin Payment Systems, Patrick was with First Data Corp and Citigroup, with his last six years as the Senior Vice President – International Risk Management at First Data.

Patrick holds a BBA and MBA, Finance, from Adelphi University.

Huib Dekker

Chief Financial Officer

Huib brings over 25 years of financial management experience to Bluefin Payment Systems and is responsible for managing all aspects of financial activities for the company. Huib previous served as the CFO of GlobalCollect, running their world-wide financial operations since 2012. Previous to GlobalCollect, Mr. Dekker held the CFO role at Telfort B.V., Wind- Hellas Telecommunications in Greece and the VoiceCash group of companies, including its bank in Malta.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and received his Chartered Public Accountant registration from the University of Amsterdam..

Tim Barnett

Chief Information Officer

Tim brings over 24 years of information technology and operations experience in the financial service industry to Bluefin Payment Systems and manages all aspects of IT for the company. Prior to joining Bluefin, Tim served as CTO of Acculynk, CIO of Pay By Touch Payment Solutions, and CIO/CTO of NOVA Information Systems. Tim also held COO/CIO roles at InterCept Payment Solutions and Spectrum EBP, respectively. Tim spent 10 years at the National Security Agency (NSA) and is an NSA certified Cryptologic Engineer.

Tim graduated with his Masters in CIS from Boston University and a Bachelors of Engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Ruston Miles

Chief Innovation Officer

Ruston has over 15 years of experience in payment processing, specializing in developing secure payment gateway technologies. As Chief Innovation Officer, Ruston serves as a payment technology evangelist, speaking all over North America on payment trends and technologies, educating the business world on the highest levels of payment security.

Ruston is a PCI Professional (PCIP), Certified Payment Professional (CPP), Certified Internet Business Strategist (CIBS), and an active participant with the PCI Security Standards Council. He holds a BS in Management Information Systems (MIS).

Greg Cornwell

Chief of Security Solutions

As Chief of Security Solutions, Greg oversees all aspects of Bluefin’s Security Solutions team, which provides PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solutions, tokenization, and e-commerce security products to enterprises and Tier 1 and Tier 2 merchants. Prior to joining Bluefin, Greg served as EVP of Sales at Accertify where he managed the U.S. and Latin America Sales Teams. Prior to Accertify, Greg served as EVP of National Sales for RBS Worldpay and Chase Paymentech where he managed National sales groups focused on everything from the card-not-present, retail, travel and entertainment industries, to the restaurant market sector.

Guido Schulz

Chief Commercial Officer

As Chief Commercial Officer of Bluefin, Guido leads all aspects of the company’s commercial and strategic operations in Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Prior to joining Bluefin, Guido served as the EVP and Chief Strategy Officer of AFEX, a leader in global payments and risk management solutions. Previous to AFEX, Guido held the position of SVP at Ruesch International, responsible for the Americas P&L, trading and various support functions, and VP at Travelex.
Guido holds a degree in Social Sciences/Economics from FAU in Nuremberg, Germany.

Grant Putre

Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

As Bluefin’s Chief Technology Officer, Grant oversees all aspects of technology development, quality assurance, certification, and integration support.

Prior to joining Bluefin, Grant served as the CIO of Vanco Payment Solutions, previously known as Veracity Payment Systems. Previous to Veracity, Grant was with Nova Information Systems (now Elavon), where he led the technology organization for Elavon in Europe as the CIO of the European subsidiary in Dublin, Ireland.
