HR Happy Hour 298 - HR and the Productivity Network
Hosts: Steve Boese, Trish McFarlane
Guest: Mike Psenka, President & Founder, Moovila
This week on the HR Happy Hour Show, Steve and Trish talk with Mike Psenka of Moovila, a technology solution designed to help people work together more effectively. While we all know that email is likely the worst tool for supporting collaboration and execution of important projects and goals, so many organizations continue to resort to email to facilitate how work is done. And the newer generation of enterprise collaboration tools that are 'chat' centric, have the potential to reduce organizational reliance on email, have their own limitations as their unstructured nature makes it hard for people to leverage them to tackle important and complex projects and tasks.
On the show Mike discusses these challenges, and how he and the team at Moovila are taking a different approach to collaboration, execution, transparency, and accountability. By making collaboration more purposeful, the activities and contributions of team members more visible and open, and creating a platform designed to support the real goals and vision of the organization, and not just collaboration for its own sake, Moovila is breaking new ground in the HR and workplace technology market.
Additionally, Steve provided a solid 'I hate email' rant, Trish shared some perspective on the upcoming HR Tech Conference, and we learned the true meaning of the word "Moovila'.

TEI146: Who product managers focus on for designing great products
in Business
Global Product Management Talk is pleased to bring you the next episode of...
The Everyday Innovator with host Chad McAllister, PhD.
The podcast is all about helping people involved in innovation and managing products become more successful, grow their careers, and STANDOUT from their peers.
About the Episode: Design is increasingly an aspect of product management, not just product teams. More of us are familiar with user experience and its impact on design, but where does design really begin? Every true user experience expert I have talked with about this has the same answer and that’s with the user of the product or the person with the problem that we wish to solve with a product.
How we actually get insights from users can be the difference between product success and failure. To explore the right way to get insights, I talked with Brian Baker at the First User Group, which is a strategic innovation firm providing business strategy and cutting-edge product design in digital, consumer electronics, and consumer packaged goods. He has delivered over 100 products to brands we would all recognize and it is likely we have encountered one or more of his products.

NoteExpo Podcast Series - Alternative Investing, Parson-CIO Heritage Capital USA
in Finance
Generally speaking, there are two types of note buyers;
The institutional investor will purchase notes on a national basis with their own funds. They might hold for a long investment, liquidate or trade out and maybe even securitize on the secondary market. The private investor purchases notes on a smaller scale, usually limited to a certain geographic region. The private investor market has grown significantly over the past several years creating a liquid market place to buy and sell on a smaller scale.
There is a certain level of knowledge that needs to be acquired for a private investor to be successful. Structuring their investments, sourcing deals and managing their portfolio are just a few of the areas in which expertise is required.
Joining the podcast to discuss alternative investments and private placement opportunities is Ryan Parson. Ryan is the Chairman and Chief Investment Officer at Heritage Capital USA, Inc. and Mile Marker Club, as well as the Director of Investor Relations at Colonial Capital Management. Ryan works with individual and business clients to provide financing solutions for all types of real estate and alternative investments.
