The family of Latin songwriter Chein García Alonso has established a scholarship at The ASCAP Foundation to honor Chein’s memory and to benefit an aspiring songwriter, musician or vocalist of Latino heritage.

Latin Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer Adrián Pieragostino was born in Caracas, Venezuela. The son of Italian immigrants, he attended the National Conservatory of Music in Caracas and, after college, joined the band Ghosts of the Caribbean, based in Mexico City. With the group, Adrián received international recognition.
