To nearly half of the population, recent news about a court order regarding a private Amazon Echo may not seem as shocking as it should.

A case involving a murder in Arkansas just helped the public learn that companies like Amazon often retain recordings of people’s conversations through devices like Amazon Echo — and that these recordings are stored in servers that may later be subject to law enforcement investigations. Depending on how the case shapes up, it could set a legal precedent that would open up government access to similar smart devices, and even force companies to keep these recordings in storage for future investigations…

The Collins Murder and Amazon Echo: Custom-Made Legal Case to Introduce Us to Big Business’ Version of Big Brother

The case seems like it was custom-made to introduce the notion of Big Brother to America. Not necessarily the murder… but the case. In order to explain this to you, I have to delve into the murder case itself a bit.

Victor Collins 1968-2015

On Nov. 21st 2015, James Andrew Bates, 31, of Bentonville, Arkansas invited a few friends over to watch a Razorbacks football game with him. The home team was playing Mississippi State in a game they lost 51-50. The game started at 6pm local time and was being played at home at Razorback stadium in Fayetteville. Bentonville is a straight shot north on I49 about 20 miles from the stadium.

On a Saturday in a modest home in a subdivision at 3502 SW Elm Manor Avenue, four friends got together to watch their local team lose a heart-breaker of a game by one point. Bates was there with his guests Victor Parris Collins, 47, Owen McDonald and Sean Henry.

On Sunday, Nov. 22nd at around 9:30am, James Bates called local police to inform them he found Victor Collins floating dead in his hot-tub.

Remarkably, it took Bentonville police until Feb. 22nd of 2016 to arrest James Bates and charge him with murder. At first he was held without bond but then released on bail in April of this year. The case is scheduled for trial sometime in 2017.

Why they waited to file charges or even need a trial in this case is beyond my comprehension. Here are some of the facts.

It is undisputed that after the game the men hung out for a while drinking beer and vodka until late in the evening.

First to leave that night was Sean Henry. After he left the three remaining men decided to hop in the hot-tub that was outside on Bates’ deck in the back yard. It was a very cold late November evening. ( ಠ_ಠ )

This is where the stories of the two surviving members of that hot-tub party diverge from one another.

According to Owen McDonald, he left somewhere around midnight, leaving Bates and Collins still drinking in the hot-tub. His story is backed-up by his wife who claims he returned home at around 12:30am that night as well as by a neighbor who picked him up and gave him a ride home when he saw Owen stumbling down the street, obviously drunk.

McDonald was later examined by police and found to have no signs of a struggle on his body (scratches, bruises, etc.)

Bates claims he went to bed around 1am leaving McDonald and Collins still drinking in the hot-tub. He says when he woke up he found Collins dead and McDonald gone.

But his story is much, much weaker.

Democracy Wins: Electoral College Voters Cast Votes in Line With Their State’s Wishes

First of all, stop saying Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 2.8 million votes. It’s simply not verified in my opinion.

All of those additional votes came well after the election was finalized and almost every single one of them came from one state, California, where Killary “won” by a whopping 4.3 million votes (most showed up well after the election)

Alex Padilla is the Secretary of State in California and as we know, the Sec. of State overseas the elections of a state. He’s a Democrat who also just happens to have two Mexican parents and when he took office his primary concern was to “modernize” voting in California.

“Padilla said his priorities include upgrading the state’s voting systems to use modern technology and making the act of voting more accessible and convenient..” LA Times

That’s right. He brought in more electronic voting machines.

Some of you might have forgotten the massive election fraud that took place in California during the 2016 Democratic Party primary elections, but I didn’t. Millions of likely Bernie supporters found their party affiliation suddenly switched from Democrat to Republican or Independent come election day which meant they had to ask for a certain special type of ballot or vote via an provisional ballot which were later shredded before they were actually counted.

There has been no recount of the general election results in California. Jill Stein wasn’t interested in asking for a recount in states where Hillary clearly stole the nomination from Bernie Sanders this year. In fact, she didn’t seem all that interested in doing recounts in states where Hillary won the general… for some reason.

So this story that Hillary won the popular vote is bunk because it is based entirely on a state where we know election fraud was already committed on behalf of Hillary Clinton this year. Stop making that claim.

Why would they pad the numbers in California after Hillary clearly lost the election? It’s simple: because they needed her to “win” the popular vote in order for John Podesta to run “install Hillary no matter what” campaign.

Aaron Swartz Rolls Over in his Grave as We Ignore the Rise of the Privatized Surveillance State (and even pay for it)

What was everyone concerned about back then? That the NSA would track our every move, record all of our calls and spy on us even in the sanctity of our own homes, right?Remember those days?

While that fight was going on, that was the biggest thing in the world. Our constitutional right to be secure in our persons and property was under siege from the big bad GUBMINT and we just had to do something.

That particular “crisis” was created by a CIA employee by the fake name of “Edward Snowden” and his PR team headed up by Glenn Greenwald. It’s what I called the ‘Manufactured Hero” story.

The whole thing was a scam from the very beginning and a few of us out here called it out for what it was immediately. We were called the “Snowden Truthers” and soundly attacked from all sides.

The truth of the matter was, Big Business was licking it’s chops at the prospect of getting CISPA passed through congress in the years before the “Snowden” psyop but they were thwarted by a concerted effort from a lot of online activists who understood that the overall plan was to privatize the surveillance state so they could profit from that aspect of the info they collected and also profit from the selling of that data they harvested.

Aaron Swartz almost single-handedly stopped CISPA the first time around, so they made sure he wasn’t around for their final effort. They “found” him hanging in his closet in New York exactly three months prior to Greenwald’s “Snowden” revelation and just two months prior to a number of Big Business representatives going to congress and demanding they pass CISPA in the new congress.

The CIA’s “Edward Snowden” Character Chimes In Supporting Clinton/Comey on FBI Email Absolution

The “ultimate” hacker, the high-school drop-out, military washout, college security-guard turned CIA “superspy”, “Edward Snowden”, has chimed in on the developing story of the Director of the FBI’s last absolution letter he sent to congress regarding Hillary Clinton and the Anthony Weiner laptop. And of course, he did so on the behalf of Hillary Clinton.

In response to some rather obvious question from Gen. Flynn, “Edward Snowden” decided to inject himself into the conversation (without tagging Flynn himself in his response mind you) and tell the world the FBI’s “investigation” into the 650,000 new emails on that laptop could take “minutes to hours” to complete, let alone 8 days.

Facebook and Google may be using copyright scanners to suppress ‘extremist’ speech

The systems that automatically enforce copyright laws on the internet may be expanding to block unfavorable speech. Reuters reports that Facebook, Google, and other companies are exploring automated removal of extremist content, and could be repurposing copyright takedown methods to identify and suppress it. It’s unclear where the lines have been drawn, but the systems are likely targeted at radical messages on social networks from enemies of European powers and the United States. Leaders in the US and Europe have increasingly decried radical extremism on the internet and have attempted to enlist internet companies in the fight. Many of those companies have been receptive to the idea. But their definitions of extremism, and how automated systems are being used, is still a secret; neither Facebook or Google would confirm these efforts to Reuters, which relied on two anonymous sources who are “familiar with the process.”

So far, major internet companies have relied on their users to flag illegal or restricted content. Earlier this year, Facebook said its users flag more than one million items for review every day. Twitter has been busy playing whack-a-mole against ISIS-related accounts at a furious pace, suspending 125,000 accounts as of February. And Google said it received over 75 million DMCA takedown requests in just one month in 2016. There’s also precedent for using automated systems to flag other kinds of illegal content; several major internet companies, including Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, and Google, use automated systems to identify the transmission of child pornography.

But upgrading automated systems for the suppression of extremist content would be a step with potentially serious and unknown consequences, since existing systems that take down content for suspected copyright and other violations deal with huge volumes of information and are routinely abused to suppress legal speech. Additionally, suppression of extremist speech may contain a lot more grey area than clearly-defined illegal content, like pirated media and child pornography.

The secret identification and and automated blocking of extremist speech would raise new, serious questions about the cooperation of private corporations with censorious governmental interests. Governments and private individuals have already attempted in recent years to hold internet companies and service providers liable for the actions of third-parties with varying degrees of success; the EU’s right to be forgotten rule now requires companies like Google to comply with individuals who want to scrub search results that point to their sensitive personal information. That rule has already been abused to try to suppress journalism.

The Boss Level of Stupid in the Hillary Clinton Propaganda Campaign: “You down with TPP?”

On the same day that neoliberal corporate shill President Obama “made history” by endorsing his political mentor and benefactor, neoliberal corporate shill Hillary Clinton, he also did a little stunt on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show, something called “Slo Jam News” where Obama, Fallon and some other guy, “slo jam” various outrageous propaganda points about the ‘success” of the Obama administration.

It’s supposed to be hip and funny and irreverent and get the real message out to all those young Jimmy Fallon viewers who might be crossovers from the Sanders campaign which Hillary and her team suppressed, disenfranchised and otherwise just flat out robbed of their primary election votes.

Keep in mind, this little propaganda stunt took place a mere two hours after “progressive” “liberal” anti-corporate, anti-globalization senator Elizabeth Warren sold out on the Rachel Maddow show and gave a breathless, life or death fear-mongering endorsement of neoliberal corporate shill Hillary Clinton. Elizabeth Warren and the Sanders supporters her endorsement was designed to target are extremely dead set against fascist corporate trade deals like the TTIP, TiSA and of course, the TPP.
