Pediatric podiatric medicine

We provide comprehensive podiatric care for infants, children and adolescents who are experiencing problems with their feet and/or ankles. In many cases, early intervention by our podiatric medicine team can lead to exceptional outcomes and prevent serious complications in the future.

Our pediatric podiatric medicine services include:

  • Age-specific care for conditions such as flat foot, bunions and hammer toes
  • Customized orthotics
  • Diagnosis and treatment of warts, verrucas and ingrown toenails
  • Removal of splinters and other foreign objects
  • Sports-specific bracing
  • Surgical and nonsurgical treatment of congenital (birth) defects
  • Surgical treatment of injuries to the feet, ankles and ligaments

We accept referrals for pediatric podiatry care from a variety of professionals, including pediatricians, dermatologists and emergency physicians.

Podiatric care for adults

Our team of foot care specialists provides cutting-edge treatments for all conditions impacting the feet and ankles in adults, including:

  • Bunions, hammer toes and lesions
  • Congenital and acquired foot deformities
  • Foot drop
  • Ingrown toenails and fungus
  • Morton's neuroma (a pinched nerve or tumor located between the toes or on the forefoot)
  • Non-specific pain impacting the feet and lower extremities
  • Plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and fallen arches
  • Precancerous lesions and melanoma
  • Slow-healing wounds, including diabetic infections

We use innovative treatments such as hyperbaric therapy (HBOT) to treat non-healing wounds, prevent the formation of diabetic ulcers and prevent amputation among high-risk patients.

If surgery is required to treat your condition, our team of podiatric surgeons uses advanced technologies to help reduce recovery times and improve overall outcomes.

Detecting early peripheral vascular disease

Signs and symptoms of heart disease often appear in your feet first. Our podiatrists have advanced training in the identification and treatment of diseases that cause the buildup of cholesterol and plaque throughout your body, increasing your risk of suffering a heart attack, stroke, or requiring a major amputation.

We use noninvasive testing to check for trouble with circulation throughout your feet and ankles that may indicate the presence of peripheral vascular disease. One of these tests is known as the ankle-brachial index (ABI). This compares the blood pressure in your ankles with the blood pressure in your upper arm. If the results of this test are abnormal, our podiatry medicine experts will prescribe further testing for you.

If you are at an increased risk of developing heart disease due to obesity, family history, diabetes, smoking, elevated blood pressure or other conditions, your podiatric physician can diagnose early signs of trouble. We'll work with cardiologists, dietitians and vascular surgeons to develop a personalized treatment plan designed to help prevent further complications and improve your overall health and wellness.
