Wound Care Center
Care for non-healing wounds
Each year millions of people suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds related to various conditions and circumstances such as:
- Cancer treatment
- Compromised immune systems that lead to infections
- Decreased mobility
- Diabetes and obesity
- Poor circulation
- Postsurgical non-healing wounds
- Traumatic wounds
Our Wound Care Center is here to help. If standard wound treatment fails, we urge you to ask your doctor about specialized wound care management. Be assured that your doctor will receive regular updates about your care at our wound center.
Multidimensional assessment
Treatment at the Wound Care Center begins with a comprehensive review of your condition, including underlying medical issues, medical history and overall diet and nutrition.
Through this assessment, other issues contributing to your hard-to-heal wound may be identified, such as diabetes, peripheral vascular circulation issues and compromising dietary habits.
This information enables you and your wound care team to gain a more complete understanding of the cause of your condition. We can work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will facilitate the wound healing process.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is among the many advances in wound care therapies available to our patients. HBOT is provided in our multi-seat hyperbaric chamber five days a week during normal working hours. Our certified hyperbaric oxygen therapy technicians are there during the entire course of your hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
HBOT is not only prescribed for patients with wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers or venous ulcers. It is also an effective, state-of-the-art treatment for such conditions as:
- Arterial insufficiencies: central retinal artery occlusion
- Compromised grafts and flaps
- Crush injury, compartment syndrome and other acute traumatic ischemias
- Delayed radiation injury
- Enhancement of healing in selected problem wounds
- Gas gangrene
- Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss
- Intracranial abscess
- Necrotizing soft tissue infections
- Refractory osteomyelitis (chronic infection of the bone)
- Severe anemia
