I found another Fancy coupon code so I decided to give the regular Fancy Box a chance after the horrible P!nk Fancy Box. The subscription is normally $39.99 plus shipping but after the $25 off coupon, I paid $21.95. My friend Shannon and I are addicted to the Fancy website and the daily emails they send with amazing stuff we want but don’t need.

NFL draft tonight! Interested in seeing where the UCLA guys go… I used to be a Raiders fan but now I root for whatever team has more Bruins in whatever game I’m watching. It’s less stressful that way – I just want to see a good game. I get too stressed during UCLA, LA Dodgers and LA Kings games already.
Can I just say how much I’m loving the judges on The Voice?! So much chemistry there and they like each other! It’s a definite contrast to the judging panel on American Idol. Poor Keith Urban… This season of American Idol has been pretty dull… I called Angie as the winner back during the auditions, but I don’t love her like I loved Phillip Phillips last season (predicted him as the winner episode 1 of the season – he was the last audition shown that episode).
I managed to pick up the Allure Beauty Box on Tuesday – it sold out in 15 minutes! The box came out to $53.24 for me after taxes and shipping. After looking at the items in that box vs. what FabFitFun would potentially send out in their summer box for the same amount of money, I cancelled my subscription to FabFitFun. I have way too many subscriptions so cancelling that (for now) made me feel a little better!
I watched two good non-fiction shows last weekend… Scam City (Science HD) was in Rio and they showed the various ways people get pick pocketed and scammed in the city. With the World Cup and Olympics coming to Brazil in the next couple years, hopefully tourists are prepared to safeguard their assets 😦
Anthony Bourdain’s new show on CNN, Parts Unknown, was pretty interesting as well. He was in Los Angeles/Koreatown hanging out with Roy Choi and David Choe. Roy Choi graduated from my high school (Villa Park in OC) and pretty much started the whole food truck revolution. I loved going to the Kogi truck and Chego when I lived in LA. It was fun seeing my old stomping grounds on the show… I’ve seen Roy a couple times around town because he does hang out at his restaurants a lot. I’ve vaguely heard of David Choe back during the Facebook IPO but I didn’t know how awesome he was until this show. Who dresses up in an all red suit and takes Anthony Bourdain to Sizzler??! Hahaa!
Why are there so many spam comments??! I’m so glad there’s that filter on wordpress. AND the comments range from stuff like you are the best blogger in the world! to one I got just now – “You will be the worst writer” Yeah. Thanks.
I’ve been able to resist signing up for Love with Food (referral link) because I’m happy with Goodies Co. but after seeing a deal last month on Fab.com (sorry, expired) – 6 months for $46.20 (I had coupon codes/ credits for $20, so I paid $26.20), I had to give in.
The theme for April is Weird, Wild & Wonderful Foods with Andrew Zimmern. I was initially iffy about the theme this month and was going to wait a month to redeem that Fab.com voucher but I decided this is what the subscription boxes are for – to try new things. Plus, I didn’t want to wait another month for my first box with them.

April’s theme is Tiny Tweaks, Big Results. This box was a collaboration between Birchbox and Women’s Health. I got Box 36 this month. I was missing the Skin&Co Body Gel when I received the box – no wonder my box weight was so low on the shipping notification! I emailed Birchbox and they still had the Skin&Co samples so they mailed me one.

I finally got this month’s Ipsy in the mail Saturday. People started receiving their bags last Monday and there are so many variations available, I was anxious to know what I’d get. It didn’t help that Ipsy used DHL this month and I am definitely not a fan. Based off the tracking, my bag sat in locations for a full day or two before any movement.

Have you seen the new Facebook home/AT&T commercial? I don’t really get it but what bugged me the most was when the flight attendant asked him to put his phone away and he turns it back on. Why is it ok to not follow the ‘rules’?!
My friends and I just booked our trip to Nashville/Memphis in June. I’m excited to be able to scratch Tennessee off my United States Scratch off Map! So far (before TN) I’m only at a measly 11 states… I’m embarrassed to say how long it took me to realize DC isn’t a state! I kept counting 50 on the list on top but I couldn’t find DC… duh!!
I got a letter from my apartment managers last week – my year lease is up in June and even if I sign up for another year, they’re still raising the rent $50. I know this apartment building is expensive for Orlando standards and I’m ok with it but maybe it’s time to think about moving. I’ve been here two years and there really isn’t much but touristy stuff in my neighborhood. I would love to be able to walk to stuff. There’s a place called SoDo Lofts – the apartments are above a couple different stores and a SUPER TARGET!! How awesome would it be to live right above a Super Target??! I’m already there more than I should be…

Is it bad when I read the message boards for subscription boxes, I want to make it into a drinking game? Every time someone threatens to cancel, DRINK!! The last drinking game we did was during the Bachelor every time AshLee talked about being abandoned by her parents… Dude, you were adopted by a loving couple – appreciate it!! I heard she’s dating Brad Womack now? Good luck to them… they’re more suited for each other than she was with Sean (way too serious for a guy like him!). A couple seasons ago, we did one for American Idol every time Randy said “in it to win it”. Makes watching TV a lot more fun!
