First Chinese freight train arrives in Europe

A train carrying household items, clothes, and bags from Yiwu in eastern China arrived in London on Wednesday as part of Chinese plans to create new overland trade routes to Europe, Reuters said. The journey, via Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France, took 18 and a half days but was cheaper than the maritime option.
