UK to leave EU single market after Brexit

The UK will leave the EU single market when it leaves the EU, prime minister Theresa May said on Tuesday. "What I'm proposing cannot mean membership of the single market," she said in a speech outlining her 12 priorities in the upcoming talks with the EU. She said she wanted the "greatest possible access to [the single market] through a new, comprehensive, bold and ambitious free trade agreement".
