Bosnian Serbs approve controversial public holiday
By EUOBSERVER
Bosnian Serbs have voted overwhelmingly to create a new public holiday in the Republika Srpska, one of three entities that makes up Bosnia Herzegovina, despite a ban from the national constitutional court. They will mark 9 January, an Eastern Orthodox festival and also the date the territory seceded in 1992. The court, the EU and US all said the vote discriminated against Bosniaks and Catholic Croats.
