The new 2017 CRVs just came out. We car shopped for a while, decided we liked the CRV and chose to wait a month for the 17s to hit dealers. During the wait, we had every intention of buying from Planet Honda, our sales guy was lovely. However, when the '17 CRVs dropped, everything went south. PH indicated that they would be getting one of our preferred colors in shortly after launch. Their stock info wound up being wrong, and they wanted to do a dealer trade. They dragged their feet on that, and couldn't get the vehicle in time to complete the transaction when they promised. What actually wound up killing the whole deal was the thousands of dollars that they undervalued our trade. I had our trade valued at other dealers previously, so I knew what I should expect to get. Their initial offer was more than 2k off. Their second offer was a full 1k off.
Even then, I would have considered going back to renegotiate the deal when they got the car in, but we were so angry at the flippant way the trade in negotiator acted toward us, combined with the run around about the color/trim and dealer trade process, we just decided to go to another dealer that actually had the color/trim we wanted in stock.
