He’s here!

At last, John Christopher has arrived!  4:15 am this morning, born at home (planned homebirth).  3.93 kg and 53cm. Here we are together with Charlotte!

See, I’m even wearing stuff from my Winter 6PAC – the cardigan and black dress.

I’m happy to have my boy, who is very healthy and happy and seems very even-tempered so far. We are all well as you can see, including Dr Moreau who took the picture (note my head is characteristically cut off).

  1. Congratulations, Elizabeth, to you, your husband, and dear Charlotte! And a great big WELCOME to the world, John Christopher. This is just the happiest news imaginable — New Life! Charlotte looks very happy, and how blessed she is to be holding her sweet baby brother, not yet one day old. I’d better leave some room for others here. And oh yes, I see you’re wearing part of your Winter 6PAC; Elizabeth you are an amazing woman! Enjoy your babymoon!

  2. Congratulations. What a big boy with those statistics! It is very pleasing to hear of his arrival and that you are both well.
It is a lovely picture of all three of you, with most of your head in it :).

  3. Congratulations! He is a beautiful baby. And will you look at those smiles on Mommy and Big Sister’s faces. I’m wearing one too looking at the three of you.

  7. Congratulations! I am happy that everyone is healthy and that you could have your planned homebirth. You look good, baby looks sweet (it was worth to let him “ripen”), Charlotte looks happy. How good of you to take the time to post this on this special day. Have a great time getting to know each other!

  8. Welcome John Christopher! Congrats Elizabeth–you look great, if a teensy bit tired, And Charlotte is the perfect picture of a doting big sister (who looks so much like your Stitchers Guild avatar, Elizabeth). It must be some kind of statement about the new little one’s personality, to be so deliberate about his arrival. Best wishes to your whole family!

  9. Wow, that’s wonderful! Congratulations! He is gorgeous. And so are you and Charlotte. But, really Elizabeth? Blogging? Photos? Shouldn’t you be resting in a post-birth fog?

  10. Congratulations and I hope you are all doing well. A strong name that will see him across continents in years to come. All the very best to the whole family.
