Modernised degree programme

The degree programme in Geomatic Engineering and Planning was revised and launches in autumn 2018 under a new name: Geospatial Engineering.
Buildings and infrastructure systems

Innovative materials, production technology, smart energy use, ICT and sensor technology will characterise the civil engineering and infrastructure systems of the future.
Natural and economic resources

Innovative, efficient and sustainable methods for the management of natural resources and technical systems will enhance the quality of life.
Monitoring and modelling

Monitoring and modelling of spatial and social data will improve understanding of the effect humans and the environment have on one another and so make life safer.

Sustainable, innovative planning, construction, maintenance and further development of infrastructure systems, taking into account the environment and natural hazards.

Focus Event: Is clay a promising future building material?

As part of the «Focus» event series, a lecture was held by Prof. Dr. Guillaume Habert from the Institute of Construction & Infrastructure Management on the topic of «Building to heal - Building materials as an opportunity for regeneration» on the June 26, 2018 at the ETH Zürich followed by a panel discussion.

ClayLab successful at the Reynold's Cup

The clay mineralogy laboratory “ClayLab” at the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering (IGT) has again been very successful in this year's Reynold's Cup of the Clay Minerals Society (CMS).
