Professor Netland Receives International Award for Teaching Excellence and Innovation

Congratulations to Professor Torbjörn Netland and his team, who were chosen by the Italian Association of Management Engineering (AiIG) and the Gianluca Spina Association as the first winner of the Gianluca Spina Award for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching.

Welcome to the Team Dr. Watson

How will the roles of doctors and nurses change when smart machines take over many of their monitoring and decision-making tasks? What are the opportunities and risks involved in this new relationship between mind and machine, and how can effective work processes and the technology to support them be jointly designed? These questions are being investigated in a new SNSF Digital Lives project led by Dr. Nadine Bienefeld at D-MTEC, in collaboration with the University Hospital Zurich and UZH.

Foreign employees feel well-integrated at the workplace

More than half of foreign employees in Switzerland feel well-integrated in their work environment. Language difficulties serve as one of the main reasons for a lack of integration. This is concluded by the latest issue of the Swiss HR Barometer issued by the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and the Universities of Lucerne and Zurich.
