Thanks for checking it out. Yes, I wanted to have a way that did not involve chemicals, and use most common household items people already have handy.
Cool! Thanks for the tip! I had not heard of that stuff. Does it have fumes or odors?

Thank you for checking it out!I know... I really wanted to open with that, but I had to abide by copyright laws by not quoting the song's refrain. You know, the line about history and follies.

That is going to be amazing! Just as much as you have already, is impressive. The finished product is going to wow! It looks like it could be a theatrical quality costume!Keep up the work!
View Topic »Way to reuse! I look forward to the finished project or projects, even if you don't do an 'ible on Red, she has to be pictured in the final shots with the BB Wolf! There is still 10 days until Halloween!
WOW! That does look incredible! The photo alone looks like a very natural sculpture! Well done! Don't stop now!

It has been a while since your last update on this project. I am very curious, (As I imagine much of the forum community is) as to the progress on your wings! How is it going?
That sounds wonderful! If it turns out anything like a full costume version of your Woodland Festival Crown, then it will be something to see! Please do not give up! There is still time!

Yes, I thought that too. That was why I selected my tiny Enterprise. :)Thanks for the lighting tip.
View Instructable »You have started! You have the supplies! That is a start!Being a member of the Instructables community, you have the creativity, it just seems you are a little low on ambition. So what is this project you have in mind but not in spirit?Go ahead and take that leap and try what you are thinking about. What do you have to lose? If it is not done in time for Halloween, it can be a completed project for next year, but if you do complete it, then you have it!

Congrats on the Grand Prize win!!!
View Instructable »The workshop sounds fun! A few clasrifying questions:Just how involved will the masks get? Is this for beginners or amateurs or for more advanced creators? Once, I used strips of newspaper and drywall mud for a mask. It worked very similar to paper mache, but much firmer to start. Applying it thinly with layers of newspaper allowed it to air dry within 30 minutes. During that time, it can be manipulated and shaped. Plus, it can be sanded smooth, painted and glued. The newspaper helped keep it from being too brittle.A one pound tub is relatively cheap (at least in the lower 48!) and can be found at most hardware store.
View Topic »She looks amazing!!! Very VERY well done!! I cannot wait to see the final write up.
Looking great!I like the use of PVC. It is lightweight, flexible and easy to cut. I am eager to see how you can get enough pivot with the pulley hinge to pull the wing tip out almost 2 feet. That will be quite the awesome set of wings when it is done!!Please, keep us all posted on the progress!
Thank you so much for the selection of the prize!!! This thread is so much fun!

Great looking vessel! The use of the zip ties and "angle brackets" is a fantastic idea!
View Instructable »KEVIN! It could be funny to just illuminate it and keep it there for all the trick-or-treaters to see.

View Instructable »Thank you! I will let you know what I do decide on.
That will be so much fun! Very current idea!
View Topic »Great idea and design! In place of the rope, use elastic or bungee cords to act like tendons to always create tension to close. Closed would be the default state. The servo would be the point to open and hold it open. The outer skin material could still slip over the entire structure with small envelopes at the ends of the ribs.

The concept sounds absolutely AWESOME! Is the plan to make a sturdy, lightweight frame that the cover can be easily swapped? Like a skeleton and glove (similar to a bat's wing)? Or will it take a great deal of time to convert? I cannot wait to see what you come up with!
Oh I do so enjoy doing Halloween. My work has a costume contest and a pumpkin decorating contest. I like to participate in both.My costumes are usually composed of thrift shop finds and I try to make my pumpkins a little out of the ordinary. This is last year's costume "Sleeping Wit Da FIshes" and my pumpkin "Aim High"I still don't have any ideas for either this year. I am open to suggestions!

WOW! That is a fantastic idea! I had not thought about that. The mat did help, but you are right, a rinse station would be much quicker and more effective! Thanks!!

That is a fantastic idea for scouts. In the event I competed in, a local girl scout troop, and three area boy scout troops each built a craft and raced against each other in the same heat. That was just for fun, but I bet it could actually fit as a part of the Engineering merit badge for the section on transforming motion!I would like to know if you do actually try it and how it turns out!Thank you for checking it out my Instructable?

List is a subjective term. Some of the most spectacular and crowd pleasing moments were from so many sinking right of the start.
Thank you very much! This was such a blast! The sanctioned event (which I cannot name or cite due to copyright restrictions) had a class where: the day of the event, you pay $25, are given three 4X8 sheets of cardboard, a 100 square foot sheet of painters plastic drop cloth and half a roll of duct tape. You would have about 4 hours to build a craft to race against other instant boat builders. That sounds like the same constraints that your brother had to work with! Very challenging! Very fun! How did your brother's boat (and I use that term loosely!) fare? Thanks for checking out my 'ible!!!
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it!Yes, the latex paint was great at sealing the cardboard, and you are exactly right... For a while. The corner that is shown being repaired is actually the corner I was at. My exuberant rowing splashed A LOT of water into the boat. Thanks for the glue tip! I will use that next time!
