Senate Finance committee Chairman Orrin Hatch said it could take up to three years to replace Obamacare:"I think if we do repeal it, we are going to have to allow a period of time to work through the problems. It’s so gummed up right now because of this last administration, that it's going to take several years to resolve," Hatch told reporters outside the Senate."I think we can repeal it immediately, but allow enough time to be able to resolve the conflicts that exist."Hatch said he believed voters would understand this would take time. "I don't see why they wouldn't ... I don't see any reason for anybody to be too upset about it. We know that Obamacare is a dog. We know that it's eating us alive. We know that it's not going to work, we know that insurers are dropping out en masse. But on the other hand, we know that to correct is going to take time, it' just that simple."(Reporting by Susan Cornwell Richard Cowan) -

New York magazine's Jonathan Chait on Trump's rant of the day.
But why would he choose to pick this strange fight? Here is a case where the common complaint that he is distracting the public from unflattering stories rings true. Proposing a flag-burning ban is a classic right-wing nationalist distraction, and Trump has a number of ugly stories from which to distract: his plan for massive, unprecedented corruption, the extreme beliefs of his appointees, a controversy over a recount that highlights his clear defeat in the national vote. -

Every time Trump tweets out an outrageous comment, the media is already falling over themselves to cover it with all the “smart takes” without realizing this is who many voted for in November. The guy who doesn’t care what the media thinks or says. He knows that by saying outlandish things via his twitter account, he will keep those who get paid to write about him for a living quite busy, meanwhile his supporters don’t care.
