In 1903 two students, William and Gilbert Foyle, failed their Civil Service exams and decided to take out an ad to sell their old textbooks. The demand was such that they bought more, sold more, bought more again, and soon after founded what they humbly called the World’s Most Famous Bookshop.

Over 100 years later Foyles is still thriving on Charing Cross Road, plus we have three other London locations, and shops in Birmingham, Bristol and Chelmsford. Our shops are havens for literature lovers, and during your student years we can help you make it count with our Foyles Student Discount.

Students can receive 10% off year-round in any Foyles shop, as well as online.

To pick up a Foyles Student Card, visit any of our shops and show a valid student ID to sign up.

To claim your 10% online discount, simply email [email protected] with your name, place of study and course details. We will email you a code which should then be entered each time you check out on the Foyles website to receive your discount.
