• How do I register?

• I am a part of a large group coming to JavaOne and OpenWorld. Is there a group registration process or any discounts available for groups?

  Yes. The Group Pass Purchase program will allow you to prepay for multiple registrations at once. Discounts are applied when five (5) or more passes are purchased. There are no discounts offered for four (4) or fewer passes. This offer is only valid when paying by credit card, is nonrefundable, and cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts. • What qualifies me for alumni status?

  If you have attended any of the following US events, your alumni status will be displayed on your badge onsite.

  • JavaOne 2015 and/or 2016
  • Oracle OpenWorld 2015 and/or 2016

  Your email will be cross-referenced with the information we have from the above conferences. Once your status is verified, it will be reflected on your badge onsite.

• I need a visa to enter the United States. Does Oracle provide letters of invitation to submit with my visa application?

  Provided you are registering for the event, Oracle will provide a statement of attendance to submit with your visa application. You will be required to submit pertinent passport and travel information during registration. Attendees are responsible for completing and submitting the visa application to their local consulate or embassy.

• I started my registration but did not finish. How can I complete it?

  Go to My Account. After entering your Oracle.com account login details, you will be taken to the point in your registration where you left off.

• I received a discount code, but I am already registered. Can I get this code applied to my registration?

  Group Pass Purchase codes are the only codes that may be applied to existing registrations. Please contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk for further information on rules and restrictions (contact information below).

• I am having trouble logging in with my Oracle.com account.

  Please refer to the step-by-step Registration Instructions or contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk for assistance (contact information below).

• Can I add Oracle OpenWorld to my JavaOne package?

  Yes. You can upgrade your experience by adding on Oracle OpenWorld. You will be offered the opportunity to add this additional registration package during registration on the package selection page. For additional information, visit the JavaOne registration add-on packages website. If you are already registered and would like to upgrade your conference experience, log in to My Account and click on “Add Package” at the bottom of the page.

• Can I add JavaOne to my Oracle OpenWorld package?

  Yes. You can upgrade your experience by adding on a JavaOne package for just US$100. This rate of US$100 can only be applied in conjunction with an Oracle OpenWorld full-conference package and cannot be purchased as a standalone item. You will be offered the opportunity to add additional registration packages during the registration process on the package selection page. If you are already registered and would like to upgrade your conference experience, log in to My Account and click on “Add Package” at the bottom of the page.

• What is a Discover Pass?

  The Discover pass gives attendees access to conference keynotes, The Exchange (exhibition halls), and Executive Solution sessions. Discover is a standalone package and cannot be combined with Oracle OpenWorld or JavaOne packages.

• I am already registered for a Discover pass. How do I upgrade to become an Oracle OpenWorld or JavaOne full-conference attendee?

  Please contact the Oracle OpenWorld or Java One help desk for assistance with this upgrade. Upgrade fee will apply. (Contact information below).

• I have already registered, but was just approved as a JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld speaker. How do I update my registration and get a refund?

  Your registration will be automatically updated upon your approval as a JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld speaker. The registration team will refund your registration fee upon your completion of all required tasks within the Speaker Resource Center (SRC). Note that any add-ons you have purchased will not be included in the refund. You can contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk to verify your status and/or refund (contact information below).

• My company will be exhibiting at JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld. How do I register to work at our booth?

  You will need an Exhibitor Staff registration code. If you do not already have this code, please contact the person from your company who is managing your exhibitor or sponsor participation at JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld. If you have any questions, contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk for assistance with this upgrade (contact information below).

• I am already registered as an Exhibitor Staff at JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld. How do I upgrade to become a JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld full-conference attendee?

  You can upgrade your existing Exhibitor Staff registration at any time. Log in to My Account and click on “Add Package” at the bottom of the page to purchase JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld full conference packages. You may also contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk for assistance (contact information below).

Student Registrations

• How do I get a Student pass?

  Make a PDF copy of your current student identification card and your 2017 fall class schedule. Email it to [email protected] or [email protected], or fax to +1.512.813.2402. Once your credentials have been verified you will be sent an e-mail with event registration details.

• Do I qualify for a Student registration?

  Student registration passes are available at no cost to students taking a minimum of 6 units and who have a current student identification card. This offer applies only to students attending accredited, nonprofit institutions of learning. You must be at least 18 years old to participate.

• What is included in a Student registration?

  Students get all of the benefits of a Discover pass, including JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld keynotes and exhibition halls. Space permitting, students can also attend JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld technical and Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions, hands-on labs, and tutorials.

• How do I cancel my registration?

  All cancellations must be received via an email to [email protected] or [email protected].

  • Full refund: Cancellations must be received by August 18, 2017, 5:00 p.m. PT.
  • 50% refund: Cancellations must be received between August 18 and September 8, 2017, 5:00 p.m. PT.
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations received after September 8, 2017, 5:00 p.m. PT.
  • Any requests for refunds following the actual event must be submitted by email no later than December 31, 2017, 5:00 p.m. PT.
  • Refunds will not be issued for group passes purchase codes at any time.
  • Refund policy does not apply to packages with no registration fees.
  • Cancellation of travel reservations and hotel reservations are the exclusive responsibility of the registrant.
  • Refunds will not be given to attendees who do not pick up their badge credentials onsite.
  • If your visa application is denied and you choose to cancel your JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld registration, you still need to adhere to the Cancellation Policy deadlines listed above.

  Registration Add-On packages are subject to the cancellation dates and policies above. Additionally, the following conditions also apply:

  • Refunds will not be given if the Add-On package has been opened or accessed.
  • Refunds will not be given for Add-On package conference materials if those materials are picked up onsite.

• Can I substitute someone else to use my registration?

  Substitutions must be requested by the original attendee via email. Please include the names of both the original and substitute registrants. All requests for substitutions must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. PT on September 29, 2017. Substitution requests received after this time will incur a US$100 processing fee.

• Where can I find agenda details?

  A schedule of events can be found on the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld websites.

• What methods of payment are accepted for conference registration and add-on packages?

  Payment can be provided at the time of registration. Accepted payment methods include:

• How do I get a copy of my receipt/invoice?

  When you register, a copy of your invoice will be attached to your registration confirmation email.

• I am not familiar with San Francisco. Where can I get information for my visit?

  Please visit the official city of San Francisco website San Francisco Travel.

• I have special dietary needs. Will meals be provided to accommodate my needs at the event?

  Yes. Oracle will offer specially prepared meals for attendees with dietary restrictions and we will do our best to fulfill every appeal that diverges from standard special needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten/dairy-free, etc.). Special meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis and some meals may be limited in quantity. When you arrive in the lunch area onsite make your request known to a server and they will review available dietary options. Please see the Registration or Information desks onsite for further details.

• Whom should I contact if I require special assistance (wheelchair or other special access, hearing impaired, sight impaired)?

  Oracle has information for details and resources for special needs in the Terms and Conditions document. If you need additional information, please contact the Oracle help desk for assistance (details below).

• Will I need to wear my badge at JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld?

  Yes, you will need to wear your badge at all times. Your badge cannot be given to or shared with another attendee or the badge will be confiscated and you will be asked to leave the event.

  If you have access to the Oracle Appreciation Event, you will be given a wristband at Materials Pickup onsite that must be worn the event.

  If you lose your badge while onsite, visit any of the registration desks for assistance. There will be a US$75 fee to print a replacement badge.

Housing

• How can I add a hotel reservation to my registration or make changes to my existing hotel reservation?

  You can book or modify an existing reservation within the Housing section of My Account. Be sure to have your Oracle.com account login details available. Please contact the JavaOne or Oracle OpenWorld help desk for any additional assistance (contact information below). You must be a registered full-conference attendee of JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld to book your stay via My Account.

• When is the last date the JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld housing team guarantees rooms at discounted conference rates?

  Discounted room rates will be offered, based on hotel availability, until September 6, 2017. After this date, rates will be determined by the hotel.

• If I have to cancel my reservation or depart earlier, what is the policy?

  Cancellations must be made no less than 72 hours prior to your arrival. Failure to do so will incur a penalty equal to one night's room and tax. If you need to shorten your hotel stay, please do so before September 6, 2017, after this date some hotels may charge you a penalty if you cancel some of the nights from your hotel booking. If you shorten your hotel departure date once you check in, the hotel’s standard early departure fees may apply.

• What if I do not check in on my scheduled arrival date?

  If you do not arrive on your scheduled arrival date, the hotel will cancel your entire reservation and can opt not to reinstate your reservation, even if you arrive the next day. You will also be charged the penalty of one night's room and tax regardless of whether the hotel opts to reinstate your reservation or not.

• If I am not ready to register for JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld but would like to book my hotel, can I do so?

  No. In order to take advantage of the discounted room rates that Oracle is offering, you must be registered for JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld.

• Will I need to provide a credit card to book my room?

  Yes, a credit card will need to be entered during the reservation process to make any reservations within the JavaOne and/or Oracle OpenWorld housing block.

• Can I use the same credit card I provided when making my reservation as a guarantee of payment to the hotel at check-in?

  Yes, however if the credit card used as a guarantee for your hotel reservation is not in your name, the cardholder must be present at check-in or a faxed credit card authorization form must be set up with the hotel prior to your arrival.

• Can I contact the hotel directly to make a hotel reservation or changes to my existing reservation at the Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne discounted rates?

  Prior to September 6, 2017, all new reservations and changes must be made through the housing team (contact information below) in order to obtain JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld discounted rates.

• Will I receive a hotel confirmation number?

  All reservations made within the JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld housing block will be confirmed via a separate hotel email confirmation. This email will not include the hotel’s confirmation number. If you would like to obtain that number, please contact the hotel directly after you have received our final confirmation email approximately two weeks before the event.

• How can I find out where my hotel is located?

  To find the location of your hotel, view the interactive map.

• Where do I find shuttle-route information to get to and from my hotel and Moscone Center?

  The shuttle schedule will be posted to the JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld transportation page closer to the event.

• If I enter special requests on my hotel reservation are they guaranteed?

  Although hotels do their best to accommodate all special requests, they are not guaranteed.

• Government Rate Terms and Conditions

  Attendees who have booked hotel reservations at the government rate through the JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld housing team must present proper US or Canadian government ID at hotel check-in. It is at the hotel's discretion to change your rate to the standard conference rate should the hotel decide proper identification has not been provided. Please note that only US and Canadian government employees are eligible for the government hotel rate.

  Note: the prevailing government per diem for the City of San Francisco is US$267.00 FY17.

• Are government rates available at every conference hotel?

  No. Only select hotels offer discounted rooms at the government rate. Please enter the hotel booking code GOVRATE17 in the hotel booking code field during the hotel selection process to check availability for discounted rooms at the government rate.

• If the government rate sells out, what are my options?

  When the rooms at the government rate sell out, you should check availability for rooms at the standard conference rate. Some standard conference rates are lower than the government per diem.

• What if when I check in, the hotel does not have my reservation booked at the government rate?

  If you have been confirmed at the government rate and the hotel booked your reservation at the standard conference rate, contact the JavaOne and Oracle OpenWorld help desk (contact information below) or visit to the housing desk in Moscone South for assistance. Do not check out of your hotel until we have helped you resolve the issue.
