Drake's upcoming tour will be sponsored by Apple Music

At this point, Apple and Drake have something of a symbiotic relationship. When it comes to Drake, Apple has been like an art patron of yore. The company paid to make Drake's effortlessly memeable "Hotline Bling" video, his upcoming album will initially be an Apple Music and iTunes exclusive, and Drake's OVO label has its own radio show on Beats 1. Now, that business partnership is spilling over into Drake's live show, as Apple Music will sponsor the rapper's upcoming Summer Sixteen tour with Future.

In an announcement posted to Drake's Instagram, Apple Music is listed as a tour sponsor along with Them Boys Up to Something, a reference to Drake and Future's "Jumpman." This appears to be the first time Apple Music has sponsored a tour, but it's not clear what exactly the sponsorship will entail, monetary or otherwise. Apple hasn't yet responded to a request for comment.

The Summer Sixteen tour will kick off on Wednesday, July 20th in Austin, Texas. Tickets for the tour will go on sale on April 29th.
