Stress is a demon that plagues us all, but did you know there is one incredibly quick and easy trick that will soothe you into a state of blissful calm?
Apparently just rubbing your ears - or hanging a clothes peg off them - can illicit zen.
This technique is called 'ear reflexology' and works on the assumption that each part of our ears is wide up to another part of our body.

Experts are now calming that that massaging your ears or using a clothes peg to apply pressure to different areas of the ear will affect other parts of your body with profound benefits.
Similar pressure point exist on the feet, hands and head.
By touching parts of the ear you have a direct line to internal organs - and it can affect moods and dull pain.
It can relieve headaches, sinus pressure, pain relief and even addiction.
Philippe Mathon, an expert and practitioner in reflexology, said: 'This is definitely something good people can do at home.
'If people are shown where to apply the pressure, which is quite then it’s an area they can access easily to relax.
'There’s similar reflex point on the feet but people often can’t take their shoes of but massaging a relaxing point on their ear is something they can do throughout the day.'

However, it’s not an exact science - and there are different diagrams and different explanations as to what parts of the ear can effect where on the body.
While Wimp.com does recommended only using the pegs for a few seconds and not to use them if they are painful, Philippe said: 'I really don't think pegs would be appropriate - mainly because it would be too painful.'
He also pointed out that there are lot more points on the inside of the ear that you cannot reach with a peg.

If you notice any pressure in your body that makes it uncomfortable then look at this chart and massage the corresponding areas.
This is where the clothes pegs come in. You can pin them on each troubled area for simultaneous relief.
Philippe said: 'I am very happy with the concept of squeezing and tugging the different points mentioned on the last diagram but they should not do what you say they would and people will notice the inconsistency between the first chart (which is correct) and the claims on the other charts.'
