LisbonLisbon (
Portuguese: Lisboa) is the
capital of Portugal. It has a population of about 552,000 people. The metropolitan area has a population of over 2.8 million people. Lisbon is located at the estuary (
https://goo.gl/gcp6Pn) of the
Tagus River (
Portuguese: Tejo), the estuary is called "Mar da Palha" (
Sea of Straw) by the Portuguese. With a length of 1,038 kilometers (
645 miles) the Tagus is the longest river on the
Iberian Peninsula (
https://goo.gl/I6gC90), it empties into the
Atlantic Ocean. Lisbon is
one of the oldest cities in the world (

technical data for this image. The image is a combination of a pansharpened OLI Band 4-3-2 (
natural color) image with an OLI Band 7-5-1 (
SWIR, NIR) image to get more colors and distinction for vegetation. The resulting
colors are near natural but slightly oversaturated and contrast is slightly enhanced. Image scale is 30 meters/pixel.
