I wanted to like this place and to have another dim sum spot to add to my list of go-tos. However, after my second straight disappointing experience here I'm starting to lose faith. Both times, service was beyond slow to the point of frustration. I usually am patient for these things, being a former waiter myself, but the food was worth (1) the prolonged wait or (2) the exorbitant prices.

We had the shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, chicken feet and a few other personal favorites for dim sum. A lot of them lacked flavor or came out like warm, which was especially disappointing given the wait. I'd rather it burn my mouth so I know why I waited so long.

It also took forever for our waiter/waitress to give us the check on both occasions. I'd imagine that this should be the fastest part? Getting paid and turning tables should be the easiest part...

I come here often for oil changes and have frequently referred people here as well for the quick service and low prices. I came here earlier today for an oil change and a gentleman I've never seen before was at the front desk talking to his insurance company on the work phone. I waited in front of him for 10 minutes while he was arguing about his policy, and didn't even acknowledge my presence. It seemed like the call would probably be going on for awhile as he started threatening to cancel his policy, so I left and decided to go elsewhere. 3 stars because I've never had issues…Read more I come here often for oil changes and have frequently referred people here as well for the quick service and low prices. UPDATE: I decided to give them another chance, the employee I encountered previously was not working. Great service and fast.

We had lunch at Doc B's on the day after Christmas.  I wasn't feeling that great, probably from something I had eaten the previous night or some stomach bug.  All I wanted was some soup.  I had the matzo ball soup and it was so good!  I had never had that before.  Between that and a bottle of stout (which oddly, always helps settle my tummy) it was all good.  The kids both had great looking sandwiches that they devoured.

Our waiter was super attentive and friendly.  I would totally go there again!

How do you end a night at the Isle spent listening to some Northwest Side legend brag about that time he scored three touchdowns against St. Juliana? Or his blast to the outfield that just missed the truck at Thillens? Or that Saturday morning when he was six years old and went five for seven at the free-throw line in Brooks Park's 7-and-under league?
With a Snappy Dog, of course!

I've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food, the service and the scene, which is very Northwest Side - in a good way. The menu is simple enough to appeal to both Guinness-fueled bar patrons in search of some late-night food within stumbling distance and weary fathers-of-four looking for some decent and inexpensive hot dogs for lunch.
And if you hear a really good-looking Eye-talian fellow boasting about that time he ended his season-long strikeout streak at a Norwood Park little league game with a weak hit down the third-base line, buy him a hot dog. It's the least you can do.
