The worship of self, the worship of power, the cult of personality. Aside from the whole #SpiritCooking mindfuck, there's nothing to suggest that our government or the Clintons are a definitively "theocratic" form of evil, like say Saudi Arabia or Israel or pedo priests in the Catholic Church. Yet Communism is just as evil, but was hostile to religion. Instead it made the government itself the "church" controlling every aspect of people's lives. I don't know what you'd call this other than maybe oligarchal collectivism. But it's definitely evil, no doubt.

I've lost faith in literally everything. Supernatural explanations don't hold water, so I don't have any religion about me. But I no longer believe in America or in the possibility of populist uprisings anymore. I certainly don't have faith in the intelligence of the American people not to actually go out there and vote "with her," based purely on their own selfish reasons of feminism/open borders/keeping the gravy train running on time. Obviously not everyone is happy about this, but can't exactly do anything about it either. The corruption is too deep, and too shrewd to be shown as evil because it's got a smiling face.

So how do atheists confront 1) the problem of evil (how do they come to an understanding of why it exists and how it embeds itself into positions of power), and 2) a potential solution to it that doesn't involve mass bloodshed? Revolutions like that don't happen in first world countries. Europeans have no weapons, and the U.S. is about to end up the same way. Plus we like to think we're "above" that. Either way, whether advisable or not, an American Spring is not going to happen.

What else is there to do? You can talk and talk and point out the lack of clothes on the emperor until your face turns as blue as a California electoral map. The true believers won't listen, and the ones in power don't care. People write book after book on these subjects and nothing changes. Faith in gods has been replaced by a canonization of the ego and the temple of Mammon. What else can be done?

Or do you just give up and commit suicide like the guy in Brave New World?
