Tynker courses teach critical 21st century skills, including computer programming, critical thinking, and problem solving. Students learn how to logically sequence events, create playable games, tell a good story, and model real situations. They also learn computational thinking by developing algorithmic and design thinking abilities. After learning the fundamentals, kids can transition to JavaScript within the Tynker learning system.
Multiple kids cannot share the same account because they will overwrite each others' work. We offer discounting when you add additional children to our Yearly and Lifetime plans.
Yes! We offer huge discounts when you add multiple children to our Yearly or Lifetime plans.
From your Parent Dashboard, you can view your children’s progress through the courses, the projects they’ve created, and the concepts they’ve learned. Tynker automatically tracks your child’s achievements as they work through the assignments. You can even share projects with your friends and family.
Yes, your subscription will renew automatically by default. After purchasing, you can turn off recurring billing or edit any other payment information from your Tynker parent dashboard.
Tynker courses are supported on laptops, desktops, or Chromebook computers. You must have a modern browser and an Internet connection. Tynker courses are not supported on tablets or phones.
The Tynker app for tablets is a supplementary app that you can download for free (or $5.99 for bonus puzzle sets) for your iPad or Android tablet that allows you to play coding puzzles, create coding projects, control drones and robots, and publish projects to our moderated community. This app is great for coding on the go, but does not provide the same structured, scaffolded learning experience that you will get with our online courses. Courses cannot be run through the Tynker app or on tablets.
To deploy mods, skins, and resource packs made with Tynker, you must have a Minecraft account that you have purchased from Mojang and you must have the classic Minecraft installed on your desktop or laptop computer. Minecraft Pocket Edition, Windows 10 Beta Edition, and Xbox Edition are not supported at this time.
Your child will have unlimited time to make mods and complete courses on Tynker, but their time to test out their creations on a private Minecraft server is limited. If you do not have a Tynker account, your child will have 30 minutes/month. With a free Tynker account, this increases to 60 minutes/month. Subscribers with an annual or quarterly plan get 480 minutes/month, and subscribers with a lifetime plan get 960 minutes/month.
Yes, you can go here to gift a one-year or lifetime subscription to Tynker. You will be charged the entire amount upfront and the subscription will not renew.
Of course. We want you to love Tynker (and we think you will). If Tynker is not a good fit for your child for any reason, we have a 30-day money back guarantee. Just send us an email at [email protected].
You can cancel a plan by turning off automatic renewal in settings via your Parent Dashboard.
