i think a lot of tme women need to realize how the ways they joke about hating men can be harmful to marginalized men and camab people. disclaimer: i do not believe misandry is an oppressive construct, i am just saying that the disguise of hating men is used to perpetuate other forms of oppression against marginalized men and camab people.

for example, saying that its unfortunate that gay and bi men are attracted to men is still going to be homophobic no matter what spin is on it, gb men’s same gender attraction to men being a “disease” isnt a haha funny joke anymore when you consider that it is perpetuating homophobia. joking abt how men are all predators/creeps to girls is going to end up backfiring on men of color, gbt men, and transfems (because they are perceived as men by so many people in this instance) because of the ways they are already percieved as such given other facets of their identities,

and replying with “misandry isnt real” isnt changing the fact that you can be, and are still perpetuating racism, homophobia, and transmisogyny, which is the issue at hand, not men wanting to feel oppressed.
