Apply for the Newton Book Collection Award
The A. Edward Newton Book Collection Award is the longest-running collegiate book collecting competition in the nation. Started in the 1930s by renowned Philadelphia book collector, A. Edward Newton, the competition awards cash prizes to three Swarthmore College students with collections defined by a cohesive theme or genre.

Friends Historical Library
Friends Historical Library was established in 1871 to collect, preserve, and make available archival, manuscript, printed, and visual records concerning the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) from their origins in the mid-seventeenth century to the present. Located within McCabe Library, FHL is an outstanding research facility for the study of Quaker history and the collection reflects the Quaker origins of Swarthmore College.
Peace Collection
Established over 80 years ago, the Peace Collection is one of the most extensive research libraries and archive collections in the country that focuses solely on movements for peace. Housed on the Lower Level of McCabe Library, this extensive collection includes books, manuscripts, photographs, posters, audiovisual items, bumper stickers, buttons, flags and other ephemera that documents "non-governmental efforts for nonviolent social change, disarmament, and conflict resolution between peoples and nations."
