Eek! Don't you just love everything that Heidi over at Fabric Mutt sews? I have been a fan of hers for so, so long! So I was super happy when she agreed to design a mini quilt for us and our SewCanShe Monthly Mini Quilts series. I gave her free rein to design anything she wanted because I didn't want to get in the way of her creativity... and look at the adorable Candygram quilt she designed!
I remember my mom taking my brother and I trick or treating on Halloween when we were was 6 and 7 and collecting lots and lots of smarties and dum-dums. Then afterwards I would trade with my brother to get all of his smarties in exchange for my dum-dums. Because smarties make you smart and dum-dums make you dumb, of course! Fortunately that's not true because he turned out to be a brilliant engineer.
Happy February! Winter is almost over, friends... time to sew for spring! Can you believe we're on our 14th month of UnTutorials? Un-Tutorials are those sneaky pins that lead you to believe there's a tutorial behind them - and then there's not. Or maybe there's a bunch of pictures with no real instructions that you can understand. Those kinds of pins are so common that I gave them a name and started a Pinterest board.
I've had so much fun lately watching the new Alice in Wonderland movies with my kids (psst.... Alice Through the Looking Glass is free to watch on Netflix right now). And have you noticed a whole bunch of Wonderland-themed fabric in the stores too? This collection (Girl's Story from Lecien) is printed on beautiful natural colored linen/cotton fabric, which makes it perfect for sewing tote bags, aprons, home decor items, and clothing (plus quilts).
It's been four days since we shared the brand new February Candygram Mini Quilt pattern and we already have five Mini's to crush on! Amazing!!!:)
