When we are adding mods, we have people PM their mod applications to the account. I don't know why that r/blog comment is there. Probably MF trying to get the account more karma. It's used as a bot in our backroom

that's where it gets tricky. users see ill intent and directions to vote, and admins don't. In the example of the cringeanarchy v insertions thing, I certainly saw malicious intent, but it seems like the admin who responded hand waved it away because insertions was pranking its own subscribers and must somehow deserve the brigading, or at least that it being brigaded isn't worth the admins caring about

also, silly question

camping out in a subreddit to up/down vote absolutely everything that is posted can be considered vote manipulation. We often detect this automatically, throw out the votes, and if we see it we will issue a suspension and explain to the user why they need to stop.

Every few days I check /r/316cats and I upvote every single submission there because all of them deserve it. Are my votes not being counted?

I'm not entirely sure what you think the "purpose" of this subreddit is but if you look in the sidebar it says

This is lighthearted subreddit for funny, cringey images

it's about entertainment, not about "educating" people or being outraged at bad behavior or analyzing bad behavior

The subreddit then imploded into a series of shitposts flaming the mods before one of the mods started their own megathread on the issue (despite the fact that the original post was already a megathread, and a more informative one at that).

7.5 hours is enough time if you don't have the bags, but it's not worth the expense or the trouble if you're going to Times Square. The only thing to see there are massive crowds of idiot tourists and a LOT of billboards. I don't recommend seeing Times Square on any itinerary, let alone one that has you in the city for 3-4 hours

If you want to have some sort of "city life" experience, the High Line is much more pleasant

we're trying to figure out what we want to do about moratoriums in general. because we never made any real or official rules about it, we decided last week to try and hash it out. in the time we've been unable to come to an agreement, there has been another major terrorist attack, a coup, and now this shooting.
