Funny thing is, I don't think it would have lasted.

Am now happily married but for some reason, closure is a real bitch to achieve.

[Serious] What are some “tips and tricks” that introverted people can use when they are nervous to talk to approach people and start a conversation? by blacklion600 in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Make a close friend. Everyone should have at least some person they can call a friend.

  2. Tell said friend that you're really introverted and shy around people. Ask if there's anything happening.

  3. Go to a social event with said person and stick with them.

  4. Hopefully, you'd eventually loosen up around friend's other friends and make new acquaintances.

  5. Rince and repeat until acquaintances are friends.

How do you get cheap plane tickets? by philosorican in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Skyscanner. One of the best cheap flight finders out there. Other than that, travel on holidays. Not AROUND them, ON them. I just bought a roundtrip plane ticket from US to India (literally on the opposite side of the world) for $700 because I'm leaving on New Year's Eve at night.

Use your incognito mode when searching for deals. Websites like the increase the fares the longer you are on a said website.

[Serious] How do illiterate people cope with the internet? by desexmachina in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an illiterate person, but I am from India where we're seeing massive technological increase in rural areas (such as smartphones, tablets etc.)

When you're talking about people like these, they are mostly residing in a close circle of people who take care of each other. Remember the saying "It takes a village to raise a child"?

Well, in a lot of places, that is exactly what happens. In such an interdependent society, people help each other. The somewhat educated person helps people with documents, contracts, etc.

A skilled craftsperson gifts goods to the educated person.

The doctor treats the people from this close-knit community for free.

The children live with their parents until the parents pass away, and take good care of them.

In such a society, it's not each man for himself. It's everyone for everyone. In a society like that, internet doesn't really mean much. They have other ways of keeping themselves occupied. On the off-chance that they do need to access the internet, there's more than enough help around.

Hope that helps.

What other debates are there akin to the ‘Sit vs Standing Wipe’ debate where each party is surprised the other exists? by Knot-a-Cop in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should carry a water hose with you at all times along with some waterproof tape. That way you can fit the hose, tape it to prevent leakage and point it into the toilet.

Just sit down on the toilet seat, and lean forward. Unless you have a footlong .. you know and don't want to dip your stick in the toilet water.

Given that it's nearly 2018, what's an everyday "problem" that you think should really have a solution by now? by mustbefuckeryafoot in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having the ability to track down my phone/keys/wallet/watch etc. using a central screen within my home.

One should be able to plant a small microchip/transmitter to track all of that giving a direction and distance but don't think that's a product yet.

How to remove offset in the horizontal axis values which is leading to inaccurate scatter plot? by emperorvinayak in excel

[–]emperorvinayak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had horizontal error bars when I first created the error bars too. However, I deleted those.

Now I only see the Y error bars in the drop-down menu you recommended.

I just figured it out while typing this. I created a new scatter plot and it didn't give me any issues. So I looked at Axis properties. turns out, I had Minimum selected as "5.95" and max selected as "8.55" for the horizontal axis.

Not sure why that mattered, but correcting those to 6 and 8.5 fixed the issue.

Thanks for the help!

How to remove offset in the horizontal axis values which is leading to inaccurate scatter plot? by emperorvinayak in excel

[–]emperorvinayak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as I mentioned, it is a smooth scatter and the columns are vertical error bars with a value of 100%. They are formatted to look like columns.

What are some red flags we should recognise within ourselves? by evection94 in AskReddit

[–]emperorvinayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jealousy/Insecurity in a relationship.

If you feel the need to constantly check your SOs phone/Facebook, and get upset if they don't provide you with the details of 100% of their life, then:

  1. You're not ready for a relationship, and/or
  2. You need to work on your insecurities, and/or
  3. You're with someone you can't trust, and that's not worth it. It's not fair to either one of you.

I learned this the hard way when I broke up with my ex. Looking back at it, I realize the kind of idiot I had been by getting upset when she hung out with male friends and checking on her Facebook. Something snapped in me after that realization and am now in an amazing stress-free marriage.
