This was oddly satisfying. Thank you.

I love the fact that the pack is missing everything child related ever

what is it with trashy single/teen moms and pitbulls?

Original Poster18 points · 2 hours ago

I think its their partners or the father of their kid. Trashy men who own pitbulls seem to really attract teen moms.

NOTE: I recently posted "Teen Mom Starter Pack" a couple hours ago and I got lots of "should've been.." so I decided to update it with the suggestions. Thank.

When did you start?

In my country, its part of the curriculum to learn swimming from a pretty young age (I think maybe 6 or 7?) all the way up to 7th grade. So you had to start getting relatively comfortable being naked in front of all the other girls in your class while in the changing rooms.

My school (I live in America) did a similar thing. In third grade, everyone in public school had to take swimming all the way through eighth grade, and then in high school it's also part of the phys ed curriculum, and you need to take two years of phys ed to graduate, so basically I've had to do swimming since third grade until I complete my phys ed credits.

Sounds like shit.

falling in love with a boy when i was 11. it was amazing. only lasted a few days though :/

When I started the first game, I didn't know that I had to press W to skydive faster and so I just floated down very slowly, yelling, "why is this so slow?!?!"

You are not alone. And it's never too late to change. We're here to support you :)

I'm a freshman with a dream in becoming an actress. I take a drama class at the local theatre, and I watch movies and read some Shakespeare to try and improve my acting skills. But does anyone else have anymore advice? I would really appreciate it, thanks :)

Freshman in high school? You're doing the right thing!

Reading plays and watching theatre is what you should be doing right now. Go see local plays! Read their descriptions, pop into anything that looks interesting. Big theatre or small theatre. See both! Since you're a student, you can show up last minute to tons of theatres, and they'll let you in super cheap (this works better in bigger cities). It's called student rush. Call them and make sure they do it beforehand.

And reading Shakespeare is fantastic and few people your age are doing it. Read some recent plays too! You'll probably enjoy them. Anything that's won a Pulitzer is a great bet. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Angels in America, plenty of Tennessee Williams, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, plenty of Sam Shepard, and other modern classics are important. But read some contemporary work! Try reading something written by Sarah Ruhl or Annie Baker, like The Vibrator Play, or The Flick.

If you really want to branch out and do more than this, read A Challenge for the Actor by Uta Hagen. That's a great place to start. Watch some videos of actors you like discussing the craft on Youtube. Try to apply what you learn to a monologue, maybe.

Don't rush, there's no need to. Soon enough, see if local theatres ever need to cast teenagers. I'm sure some do. Audition for those roles when they pop up. In a few years, research colleges, find an audition coach. I decided I wanted to act in my junior year, and still got into a top conservatory. I think it was honestly just because I loved theatre and was well read, so I poured my heart into my audition and practiced it a ton.

So be doing that! Develop a love for theatre, and read a lot!

There's a channel called "From Script To Screen" that shows famous scenes from movies and the script side by side. It's not really all about skills in film, it's just interesting to see.

Good read. Are you a writer?

do you believe loneliness, even though it's very common among people, isn't represented enough in film and books? comment your answers below.

Some movies I think capture the concept of being alone when the person is trapped or imprisoned. But I can't think of a single movie off the top of my head that explores personal and existential loneliness. I think cuz it would be way to depressing for most people to watch. I know I'd be saddened by it. Plus there would almost no plot cuz some of our lives are pretty normal. Movies are based on a character overcoming something but it may be too difficult to represent something so indescribable. I've thought of doing it in book form though. However, I worry about the mental repercussions on myself.

A movie that comes to my mind with the loneliness theme is Taxi Driver. You should check it out if you want to.

i think i am too. A part of me doesn't want to go out and try to make more friends because it's effort. And I fear even if I try and try I won't find anyone else that I have anything in common with.

Original Poster4 points · 5 days ago

Fear has always been a problem for me too when it’s putting in effort for people but I fear humiliation above all else because it has happened almost every time I’ve tried, whether it’s a girl or just some guy I want to initiate a friendly conversation with. I get hurt really bad. It’s like my mind plays an “I told you so” tape on repeat in my head, it’s crazy lmao

Mustering confidence is not a problem for me but I will NOT allow myself to be hurt again, I’ll probably just hang myself or something the next time, I’m already walking a thin line as it is LOL

Sorry for being too vague but it’s not everyday I can talk to people about this. Reddit being anonymous is such a great platform. Thanks for reading.

Yeah, I get you. I get so sensitive when it comes to friends, I get so worried that I'll say something wrong and push them away

I get you. I think a lot of people have done things that they didn't think they would do when they're lonely.

I'm a young woman and I understand how you feel. If this helps you at all, not all women on here are like that. I don't think I am, at least.

As for people on here being more friendly than people irl, I totally relate. It sucks.
